Follow up, feeling closer all the time

I tried telling my parents I only want to go home for a couple of days for winter break and spend the rest alone on campus working. It didnt go over well, I caved in and I guess I'm going to be home for the whole break. I have too much work to do. I don't know how I'm going to get through this. I feel like giving up on everything.
