I mean, maybe culturally...
I don’t care about the economics, I care about the culture.
This
Then why are you right?
Because that is where the compass put me. I would vastly prefer the economic right, but the social issues are a lot more important to me.
8 trillion dollars
Chad actually aware of the situation

It will happen in the future depending if you believe marx or not.
I’m not crying, your crying
It’s not leftwing. Even moderate lefty DSA types dislike Biden.
I disliked Biden and Dems so much I rooted for Trump.
based (to cancel out the cringe)
Lol based and to cancel the cringe pilled
Cringe
You cringe
Yeah, we are actually quite authright relative to the world
Sure. Name three countries that are more libright than America.
Switzerland, Estonia and Singapore (when writing this I forgot how authoritarian is Singapore I was thinking of mostly economic terms and I forgot how auth Singapore is on other aspects, in that case a better example would be Hong Kong before China took more control over them).
And You can technically make arguments for many other countries but these are 3 that almost no one could refute.
Ah yes, the most lib country Singapore, they only banned homosexuals and all drugs and all guns... Bruh.
Famous libright police state Singapore.
Estonia is more libright than America ? GTFO with that shit
it's way harder to get a gun ,car driver's license, people can't even elect a President
Czech republic is pretty damn lib, not sure about right though.

TIL 'The world' = the anglosphere and western Europe
Opposite unity baby lesssss go!
That’s how leftism works. You think maduro is popular?
Your delusional if you think amarica is left wing
Sure, what's more popular in media right now? A group of choir kids OR a bunch of transgender non-binary 8 year-olds that teach stripping classes?
Ok the Media is faux progressive, that means nothing in the context of American politics being left or right. Aww
Almost everyone in this sub, you included, thinks the left-right axis in our beloved compass stands for how progressive and culturally liberal someone is. It doesn't. It stands for the economic philosophy you support. In a lot of cases that correlates: people who think the rich should pay higher taxes and the poor should have a tight security net tend to also be more accepting of different sexual orientations. But not America. America is (in some parts) very progressive in social, cultural, queer issues but remains being a very right, neoliberal nation economy-wise. As in: you don't judge people for being gay, but you also don't help people who are poor.
I'm European so I don't know about those stripping classes you seem very focused on. But believe me, from outside: the USA are not left-wing.
“I’ve won, exactly as planned.”
The Supreme Court is currently 5 / 4 when it comes to socially conservative fiscally centrist policies. Almost all cases involving different treatment of religious activities during the pandemic have been ruled in favour of religious groups.
Congress is still strongly conservative — it’s just that vocal conservatives are no longer in the spotlight anymore.
Most “progressive” things we’ve seen are aberrations that come from traditionally liberal regions. The majority of America still is centrist or center right.
Don’t worry OP, all that’s happening is the country is pulling closer to the Center. America isn’t going to end up like the EU — which is a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.
Lets hope it goes down next
America isn’t going to end up like the EU — which is a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.
Big EU supporter here: it means both. The EU is good and bad. We judge the USA for not being able just add votes and let the winner be President while not even having a say in who is our President. We laugh about how Putin destablized the USA by helping a Troll into the White House while we let him break us apart. You might be able to repair what Trump did, but Brexit is irreversible. There's a lack of solidarity between EU states and the refugee camps on our Islands are in a worse condition than those in Lebanon. On EU level it's the dream of every Neoliberal: an economic union without a social union. The richer states telling the poorer states what to spend their money on. There's a lot going wrong in the EU.
On the other hand, on a national level, being more like us could really be a good thing. A lot of countries have a good social net, universal health care and all that and it turns out giving money to the poor saves money we otherwise would have to spend on Police and a massive amount of Prisons.
We also got "queer-free"-proud zones in Poland and a crumbling democracy in Hungary - both countries have the EU as their main enemy while getting billions out of EU programs.
What's wrong with the EU is mainly that it's an unholy hybrid of a federation and a nation, which allows member states to shift all the blame to the EU while still having all the power at home. It seems we will slowly break apart. I would prefer the way forward, to United States of Europe. Otherwise we will just be pawns for the World Powers USA and China and even have to endure prolonged trolling from Russia.

It’s just a different flavor of authright. Left of the other flavor of authright for sure. MUCH closer to authcenter than the other flavor of authright, for sure. But still...authright.
I see that this is an absolute win!

Ahaaa goooood:)
The funny thing about leftwing authoritarians trying these shady things is that it always ends up backfiring and benefitting the rightoids.
Rightoids and victim complex name a more iconic duo
Court packing? The last 3 senators were installed via dirty political games. Mitch McConnell is a menace to American society. As for DC, if Rhode Island can be a state, so should DC, it gives over half a million people representation. The same thing should happen to Puerto Rico if they don’t just cut it loose and let it declare independence. If you really hate the idea of democrats pushing change through congress, merge Rhode Island with Connecticut and keep the 50 state balance.
Edit: Even Wyoming has a smaller population than DC, but I suppose for some special reason they deserve 2 senators and 3 representatives and DC doesn’t.
What I’ve heard as an argument against DC statehood is that it was meant to be a neutral ground that does not have bias toward a certain state. I think Puerto Rico should definitely be allowed to become a state though.
Yes, that’s the originally intended purpose of DC not being.a state. That being said, it was also originally intended that women couldn’t vote and black people could be property. So I think that maybe now that DC is bigger than some states it’s time to give it representation if we’re going to tax it.
They pay federal taxes, they have electoral votes for the federal presidential election.
They do not have representatives in congress. That’s no representation.
DC was given by Maryland to act as the federal land. It was never suppose to be a state.

You know, Left wing or Right wing, Authoritarian Extremism always drifts to the Centre after some time
At a certain level of authoritarianism, economics becomes a moot point.
Power seeks power for its own sake.
Its the chicken and egg problem. Does the policy move to the center or does the center move to the policy?
