Induction being moved up- anyone else??
I kinda just want to cry. I have been having Non Stress Tests every week. Solely because I had high blood pressure (controlled with medication) PRIOR to pregnancy. Not once has my blood pressure increased, always in normal range.
Today the heart rate “dropped” once, the nurse called it an “anomaly”; she made me sit longer to see it if became consistent, about 15 more minutes. That one anomaly was the only one.
They wanted to be precautious, fine. They sent me to ultrasound, that would be rated by points (8 being the highest). Not once has this babe been compliant with ultrasounds, like not turning or moving the way the tech needed her to. This resulted in me needing 3 more AND a referral for Maternal Fetal Medicine.
She scored 6/8; midwives came in the room and said because of this score, I need to be induced sooner, like TODAY. I asked what 2 points did she miss; “we didn’t read the report yet, but this is our recommendation.” Found that a little unprofessional. Especially the statement “so you want to risk your baby?”
Regardless, I am not mentally prepared for that induction being today, I declined it but compromised and told them I would come back and have both tests done again.
Of course the minute I get in my car and driving home and the minute I was speaking to the midwives, she was moving 😒
Has anyone gotten pressured into this decision (because honestly that’s all I felt) because of this one exam?!

We don’t have enough information about your case and are not medical professionals, so we shouldn’t be advising you on whether you should induce today. However, the medical professionals who have examined you have determined that they are so concerned about your current situation that you need to be induced immediately. I personally wouldn’t risk it.
I wasn’t asking about what necessarily someone else would do - sorry if that was confusing. I was asking has this happened to someone else with having their induction date being moved up a week earlier than was prior agreed on.
My impression is that you are asking whether anyone else has had the same thing happened and refused to induce and everything turned out ok to support your decision to not induce today. I’m sure there are many people out there who can pipe up and say yes, that’s what happened to them. But, maybe in their case it was the right decision. We don’t have enough info here about your medical condition to know whether this is the right call. Other people’s experiences are just that - their personal experiences based on their own personal circumstances.
I was just trying to see if this is a common occurrence or not for others. I am not from this state, unfamiliar with the hospital and staff. I am not trying to ask for medical advice, Reddit is not where I would go for medical advice.
It was clear you were asking for others’ experiences and that you’re going to do what’s best for you and your baby. I have none, but I’m sending you good vibes mama.
Thank you, I appreciate it! Please and thank you for the positive vibes, I need them!
