The Dolphins epic fail was our gain
The Dolphins trading back with SF was genius and got them a haul of picks that honestly made me jealous.
Then they were such morons they gave up 2 precious 1st round picks to gain a 5th overall pick. (1 luxurious future 1st round pick lost in total)
The reasoning was they wanted to get the elite prospects of Chase or Pitts and wanted to get right in front of the Lions to ensure their prize.
Hilariously both those players were scooped up right before they picked and they were forced to settle for waddle.
Furthermore, Philadelphia picking in the Dolphins original spot got Smith who the Dolphins probably would have been just as happy with also. Basically proving they wasted 2 firsts to get a WR they could of had at their original spot anyway.
What makes it even better is this bizarre series of trades is basically the only reason why we ended up with Sewell.
Had Dolphins originally stayed at 3 and got Pitts then sewell would have most likely been scooped up by Atlanta or Philadelphia.
Had Dolphins smartly stayed at the SF pick i still think Sewell may have been taken by Philadelphia.
Either way the Dolphins and Lions will be playoff teams at exact same time in the future (most likely 2023) and now the Dolphins have one less precious 1st round pick to use against us when we face them in super bowl 2024.
The Dolphins really fucked up and it helped us a lot.
