This just brings back memories of when my mom first noticed my tattoo. It was a very snarky sounding “nice tattoo”. I immediately felt ashamed/embarrassed.

That’s horrible:/. I’m so sorry that happened to you

Just got my first tattoo last month. When I showed my parents, we were in the driveway of their house as I was about to take my brother to work. They really stuck to the phrase "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" which was pretty nice all things considered. The conversation ended up with me laughing about how much it still hurt while they just nodded with thin lipped, disappointed, polite smiles. My brother and I laughed about how awkward it was the entire drive, and I was proud of how far I've come since I've left the church. A few years ago I would have been scared to show them, if I even dared to get the tattoo.
Just paid a deposit for my first tattoo! Scheduled for July. Too far out. My dad is going to freak when he sees it! Oh well!
I left the church several years ago, and the most recent time i went to visit my parents, i showed up wearing a short sleeve shirt with a half sleeve tattoo on my left arm from wrist to elbow. My dad (born and raised TBM) just said, as sarcastically as possible, “I see you picked up art again” (making a stab at an old hobby that I’ve more or less given up because I’m colorblind and got tired of dealing with the challenge/failing assignments in school because all my art was black/white). My Stepmom on the other hand, a convert with multiple tattoos of her own that she just hides at church, excitedly ran up and grabbed my arm and exclaimed “it’s BEAUTIFUL!! I love it! I wish I could go get a matching one with you someday!” And honestly that was one of the most validating experiences of my life
No joke, I LOVE my tattoo every time I look at it. I find it sexy.
So i wonder if it's a o okay to have a small tattoo with my daughters name just simple one and all of a sudden a accidental see that simple tattoo on my body? Question is..this member of LDS church what will happen?
Nothing, I believe. Tattoos are not a requirement for the temple
For me it'd be an earring...I'm a dude.
As a dude with a nose ring, be prepared for a shocked response, especially if your parents are super TBM
Thats all I needed, I’m gonna get the swastika on my forehead I always wanted :)
Left facing or right facing? 🤔
I guess it’s mandatory to put 2 on my face now, one left faced on my one cheek and one right facing on the other 😂
If Saw was made in 1939 😂

Ah. There’s the motivation I needed to get the tattoo.
