Small question regarding Signs And Portents

I'm doing a slow rewatch. Just wondering if its ever been reveled in canon, or otherwise, how the finder managed to get a hold of The Eye? Mollari says he would "...very much like to know how you got your hands on this?" And the finder, ominously replies "No you wouldn't." Just curious. Thanks!

Murder. Just, like, a shit-ton of murders. The people who knew about the Eye, the people who had it, the people who tried to steal it from the guy who "recovered" it. All dead, and any innocent witnesses along with them.

I mean, that's basically the implication.

The traider who sold Londo the Eye appeared again in S2 episode Hunter, Prey, where he own a shop on B5. Although it's not clear if it's different character, but played by the same actor.

A career switch!

Helped by the same agency that also promised Morden (a bored technician at a space station where nothing ever happened) a more adventurous life with aliens and explosions. Guess the "trader" took the opposite route and decided he had enough of this life full of murder and death.

Not the same situation. At the time of The Gathering Morden was already on Z'ha'dum, so he can't be Guerra. Mr. Reno from Signs and Portents and unnamed merchant from Hunter, Prey, on the other hand, definitely can be the same person.

I know, but it would have been a nice symmetry.

The slightly more boring but more realistic symmetry is, that in both instances we have an actor playing two different roles in the same show and there are many more examples (but most of the time less visible due to alien makeup). But it's still interesting to speculate wildly and irresponsibly on how Morden could have been on B5 undercover :-)

I thought about that, but it doesn't explain why later Morden returned to his true identity, which eventually got him to trouble with Sheridan. His identicard was long outdated when he arrived in Signs and Portents. He should have just use Guerra identity all along.

Well, I laughed.

I have to choose "different character". You just don't go from that powerful, walking around with bodyguards, to that weak and meek (worried about getting in trouble with whoever's searching for the desperate man) in a single year.

Almost certainly there was no intention to use the same character. But it just possible that mr. Reno had a very bad year and don't feel so powerful anymore. There must be a reason why we don't see N'Grath in S2, for example. Things change in B5 universe.

But we don't see N'Grath selling flowers in the Zocolo in S2 (which would be very cool, by the way! If we ever get a real remaster, I hope JMS can do a George Lucas and insert N'Grath in some small shop somewhere. And maybe he could also fix some other flaws. I mean: Sheridan shooting first with a white star and some nukes? I'm thinking... maybe the Z'Ha'Dum defense system can shoot first, but miss, obviously? ;-)

But seriously, I would have loved to have seen more of N'Grath (or others of his species). I really liked his alienness.
