Revoking the Privilegia is a pathway to many abilities some find... unnatural.
It's not my general, though. I beat up the Ottomans, and took one province of every tag I could release. Cored, convert the province to some Christian denomination, added the province to the HRE, and released them. Now I have reconquest CBs.

R5: in a post-revoke HRE run, I threw about 28k men at an enemy army. My vassals joined in, and wiped them off of the earth. This resulted in my (and presumably my vassals) gaining over 800 army tradition. In one battle.
the army tradition that shows here is the total won by all your allies and vassals and yourself in that battle, so you only got a portion of that
It seems you are correct. Other battles under similar(-ish) circumstances confirm this. I was at ~60 aemy tradition, got into a battle that gave 120 or 150 army tradition, and my own went up to 80-ish.
