Mucus gunk from rectal stump

I have a colectomy. I have my rectum and anus and I get the horrid mucus from it. I tend to hold it in because I am bed-bound. I don't want that in my bed. I do have a Chucks pad under me but the stuff gets all in my crack and all over my butt.

So I decided to get some glycerin suppositories to make my self poop it all at one time so it doesn't drizzle out constantly. I'd like to think of it as an oil change and open the spigot and let the muck flow.

The cannister says it takes about 15 minutes to work. Has anyone tried it? I have a bed side potty I can sit on or I can get on the shower bench and let it out in the shower.

I am just tired of laying in the stuff making my bed a mess even with the bed pads.

My boss is paralyzed and we used to use those, I'm not sure they ever really did anything (they always seemed too come back out whole so idk how much they're supposed to dissolve?).

Worth a try though. Would a microlax enema work? I'm guessing a fleet would be too much. And I'd check with your doctor before those just in case.

I was in a similar situation (not bedbound, but making messes, constant), and I did a warm water enema daily to clear it out, and it worked great. Over time I only had to do it once a week.
