What a Fantastic Community
So... I'm pretty new to streaming (2-3 weeks in) and have never played Star Citizen before. I've been keeping an eye on SC for a while now and decided to give it a crack during fleet week.
Finally got around to it last night, I normally have 1-2 viewers on stream. Pretty much as soon as I went live, I had a couple of people jump into the chat asking if I'd like some help, specifically because they saw that I hadn't played before. Then people kept coming in, offering more help and advice.
They were an absolute life saver, the game is many things, but a good tutorial is not one of them. They pointed me in the right direction, showed me down to the tech show and how to get to the hangar etc etc. My game bricked my PC three times and I had to start my stream again, they were still there and keen to help me further. I ended up with about 6 people showing me the ropes, doing a delivery mission etc. I'm pretty sure I would've spent the same amount of time just finding my way to the hangar.
My night finally came to an end when I got "Star Citizened" and stepped out the back of my ship, to be instantly teleported back inside and smashed against the interior to die.
The game looks... amazing. There is no other word for it. I'm not convinced yet that the gameplay loop will keep my interested at this stage (at least until more is added) but the helpfulness and friendly nature of the community has pretty much convinced me the game is worth buying. For that experience alone, I look forward to more.

Glad you liked it ))
In here, we are more testers than players - SC is still in alpha and every new patch brings tons of bugs along with the new content.
So, most of us have learnt to deal with constant development loop and helping each other is also a great way of having fun - CIG is actively trying to encourage player interaction, not limiting it to PvP.
Hope we'll see you in the Verse after the end of Invictus!
Pretty much every little glitch had been seen before apparently. The bricking didn't seem to be a common problem but I think it was Streamlabs OBS causing the issue, as it's very CPU heavy. When I switched to OBS it got a lot better and my frame rate got heeeeaps better.
For recording the game I use Nvidia Experience, it doesn't seem to weigh heavy on the system.
I never thought of that. I'll give that a go. Recording without the overlays etc while streaming as well is a bit of a pain. 2 PCs would make the load pretty light but that's a slightly unnecessary expense right now.
