A resource with information and resources to help people with very simple cases file without an attorney. It considers itself a form of national bankruptcy-specific legal aid. If you do not qualify for its services, they will refer you to an affiliate attorney. We have had some negative reports about the referral attorneys. Like any referral, take it with a grain of salt.

Arizona's bankruptcy court has free services and below is a link to the information. It is highly informative and I suggest you watch the video by Judge Case and read the information. Tucson and PHX clients are handled separately (it will depend by your county).

You must watch these videos (series) first:

Here is a link to the scheduler once you have completed the above steps:

Community Legal Services provides pro-bono services to those who qualify; their services are rather broad (not just BK).

This Project provides low-cost legal assistance to individuals who do not qualify for free legal services, but cannot afford the expertise of attorneys at the standard rate. The Modest Means Project assists individuals in a one-hour meeting for a fee of $75.

Chicago Volunteer Legal Services has a division, Amicus Poloniae, with a bunch of talented bankruptcy attorneys where they provide pro bono services to help people in Cook and the collar counties. Specifically help impoverished folks; they offer free advice but need to be under their income threshold to qualify for pro bono filing.

They are located at the Polish National Alliance HQ and have English and Polish speaking attorneys. 6100 North Cicero Chicago, Illinois 60646

Take note they only meet the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Call 773-286-2325 to confirm since sometimes they move dates.
