I miss the discordant and atonal background "music" of Obsidian Fallouts.
I much prefer it to the orchestral modern music we seem to get in all Beths' newer games.

There's background music?
I think he means the ambience
I couldn't describe that for $100. I'm usually turning that stuff off so I can hear speech, warning sounds, important stuff lol
It's not a Bethesda thing, I just always have to.
I think "Darkness into Light" wouldn't sound out-of-place in New Vegas.
Up until Far Harbor, I would agree that the modern Fallouts suffered from rather generic, orchestral music. It's not bad. It just doesn't scream anything uniquely Fallout, especially compared to something like Mark Morgan's work in Fallout 1 and 2.
To that end, though, I agree that New Vegas' soundtrack is discordant, but I never felt it was deliberately so. It just seemed like they had multiple composers on that one, who perhaps weren't given much guidance, and the end result was all over the place.
I think both are great, and I think both should be used, like seeing the Prydwen come in with the booming music was awesome, but the absolute dread some of those tracks could bring in the right area is amazing. Sadly 76 doesn't lend itself well to the classic music, I think The Pitt could be perfect with classic music.
I think the Pitt requires some Super old school industrial. Like the O.G “banging on pipes and revving circular saws” industrial.
