Melo.tools: hub of free Monero tools

Hey everyone,

Together with some friends and colleagues, over time we've developed and put together a number of tools and resources for the community.

You can now find them on this page: https://melo.tools

Among other things, of interest to many Monero users are powerful remote nodes that you can access at node.melo.tools for mainnet (or stagenet.melo.tools and testnet.melo.tools). You can also check their health and status automatically via API. We will add Tor nodes soon.

Of particular interest for developers, we automatically build docker images whenever there is a new tag or a new version of master branch.

Cheers

Thanks for this. I've been researching and Monero looks promising

Monero has one of the best features a cryptocurrency will need to work as intended today. It is a favourite coin

you freaked me out for a sec with the hardfork countdown. lol unless there is an upcoming hardfork that wasn't posted here?

Yeah it's just a placeholder date until the next date is added to the code. Sorry for the freak out, maybe we should put something farther in the future :)Once an actual date (block height) is merged to the code, it will automatically show up on the countdown without the "estimated" label.

I figured as much, from the hardfork blockheight being listed as "wild guess" :)

Yay for a simple usable design. Very good work.

The faucet doesn't work, it gives me the following error:

-2: WALLET_RPC_ERROR_CODE_WRONG_ADDRESS

Did you use a proper stagenet address for the stagenet faucet, or a proper testnet address for the testnet faucet?
And obviously a mainnet address won't work for either ;)

Noob here

What is a stagenet address , testnet address , etc??

Testnet may be upgraded frequently and highly experimental. It's used to develop and test Monero protocol and software itself. You typically need to compile a recent commit to use it.

The stagenet network runs a 1:1 copy of the mainnet protocol, except that it's worthless. It's intended for integrators, developers of apps and services that interact with the Monero network. The protocol is upgraded together with mainnet, except usually a couple of weeks earlier.

Both are worth nothing, so you can mess up and lose coins and it's ok. If you're not a developer and just a user, I would recommend stagenet to learn and experiment with Monero software without the risk of losing money.

And "Mainnet" is the real deal, the actual network and tokens with monetary value.

Thank you :)

Oh lol I have no idea what that means, I'm super new no Monero

I'm currently not running a node so I only have an address generated by Monerujo. Is it a mainnet one?

Edit: ok I looked it up, and yeah, I used a mainnet one. Sorry

It's most likely a mainnet one yes.

Just wanted to say thanks, first time messing around with the monero-wallet-rpc and the Stagenet faucet is a life saver. (i ended up on testnet first not realising stagenet was the place for me, and i had strange issues with balance showing and then not.. like i would see the tx in mem pool but it would never get confirmed. but the stagenet works fine)

Some UX issues i have with the website is no "home button" and how alot of the links open 'new tabs' instead of in the same window, gets confusing after a while with alot open. and when "Sorry, you're blocked" it would be nice to know how long for (although making a new sub address does bypass this, so maybe you wanted to do ip based time-outs?) after typing this im now realising that it would be best to load a wallet with 10 coins, then use this one to send fractions of a coin to the rpc testing wallet, doh.

edit: i see a 'back to melo tools' link at the bottom of a new tab which leaves the old tab there
