On a more serious note I found it interesting to learn that the original Mambo number 5 came out in 1949. Lou Bega sampled the last 30 seconds of the song, and imho both have held up over time.

It's interesting that this is one of those German artists everybody seems to know.
Edit: To clarify: as a German teenager at the time this was just this weird one hit wonder song to me and I wasn't very aware how internationally successful it was, especially not before social media or anything were truly a thing. So when I later found out that pretty much everybody everywhere knows it was a surprise.
