Ascension by descent
As a dad of a teething one year old that refuses to sleep unless being held through the night, mind wanders. However, this too shall pass.
Deprived Ascension to madness… Started on a staircase downward. Where one step.. If I stumble turns to three or more. No longer can I ignore… I am not what I was before. Stable… Grounded… Levelled… Balanced… Of sound mind, body or soul. I wonder… Can I take much more. Like a piano out of tune… An unpopular tribune… An settled dune… Doomed. Shifting minutes… Blocks of hours… A shut down brain… Hanging on by will power. Waiting for the seconds to at last close my eyes… What came next was no surprise… Scuffling of feet… Whimpers in the air… How could I have dared. Not unprepared… But tiresomely aware… Tick tock… My service required. Aid in bringing peace though my own motion… Settle one expressing a singular constant emotion. Unrest. Ascension through descent… Just as I see rock bottom. A new depth opens… Downward spirals continuously happen. An SOS sent. Maybe the message in the bottle won’t be received… In too deep, a bottle not surfaced. Serving not its purpose. It’s trailing my pace.., Sinking deeper, I am losing this race. Not fighting to stay up, just for a sweet few slumbering moments. Maybe in fortnight… Just thought tonight… I’d transcribe this plight… To let seconds slip… Before this beloved child may be back in crib. Not just crossed are fingers… but toes.. Who knows… Who knows.
