I'm looking for a good PDF reader. Thought I'd ask for recommendations here.

Discussion

I've been playing tabletop rpgs for a long time. Due to kickstarters and DriveThruRPG, I have a large number of pdf copies of books. I'm looking for an app to read them that is easy to use. I need the app to remember my place and let me bookmark spots in each book. The ability to organize them into folders by system or purpose would be nice, but is not crucial.

Here's what I've tried so far. Books is a mess. It just can't cope with a large number of files 2k+ at this point. And trying to organize them on the iPad Mini is a joke. Using the OS's own pdf viewer with Files is sort of okay as a reader, but doesn't remember your place and if you can bookmark places, I can't figure out how to do it. I don't need anything like PDF Expert, as I don't need to edit or annotate these books. Just read, save my place and bookmark.

My best friend recommended Goodreader and while he loves it, I couldn't stand it. Completely unintuitive interface, bogs down trying to import from multiple sources and is just a pain in the ass to use imo.

So I'm really hoping y'all can help me find the app that will do what I need. These files range in size from a few mb to a few hundred mbs. Thanks in advance.

PDF Viewer. Simple but effective app. Free version should do everything you need.

Try these free apps: PDF Viewer Pro by PSPDFKit, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Documents by Readdle. All three offer optional subscriptions, but you will be fine with their free functionalities.

I've tried Adobe's reader, and I didn't much care for it. I will definitely check out the others. Thank you!

I use Flexcil on my iPad Pro and I can recommend it strongly. It’s good for bookmarks and I also like that I can highlight stuff and search within them too.

I use google play books, upload them and read anywhere, it remembers your position. I don’t use bookmarks so I don’t know about that but it’s all free so it’s worth a try

I used to be an android guy, and I hadn't even thought of this one. I will give this a look as well. Thank you!
