I recommend removing the cats just to be safe

Probably Gymnopilus sp.. just old, no rosecomb

Sort of looks like a Gymnopilus species to me but where the cap has been messed up by something. I don't know if this is some crazy mutation, disease or if it's just as a result of squeezing through the crack in the door.

Rosecomb mutation, usually a petroleum caused mutation possible from the paint. Dead rotting wood, rusty orange, and those pins look gym.

I was thinking rosecomb but I've never seen it quite like this before so wondered if there may be something else at work.

To me it doesn’t look like rosecomb mutation. It looks like a rather old mushroom that’s cap has completely opened up to the point of being concave, but it’s hard to tell

I’m not into eating random things but is this species deadly if consumed? There are a few roaming cats and Id want to remove it before anything could happen

Can't say what affect it would have on cats but many species of Gymnopilus can contain psilocybin and baeocystin so may be psychoactive. Though the concentration is relatively low compared to other things. They taste unbearably bitter though so I wouldn't expect cats to want to eat them. If it's a Gymnopilus it wouldn't be deadly but it could be something else. Hard to tell due to the messed up cap. When that other one opens if there is a heavy orange-rusty brown spore deposit on the stem and floor below then Gymnopilus seems probable.
