We adopted a kitten from RACC today. The doge is not a fan. Yet.

No, but there was a pretty large hawk at the edge of chimbo park when I walked the dogs tonight. Kinda cool.

Hawks are always cool to see. I have a red-shouldered that comes and sits on my back fence looking for mice n such periodically.

Hanging out trying not to scratch my mosquito bites because I stayed out in my hammock just a little too far into dusk.

I went to rockwood and had fun walking but forgot bug spray and got eaten alive 😩 so I know the feel!

I'm getting into the bar scene, and also getting into my new apartment. Sucks having to move large furniture up tight staircases.

yeah, the first. It's on netflix was the real bonus. I'll probably watch a couple next week as well. I binge watched HK action films on VCDs for a few years right after the handover (I remember when Purple Storm came out and it was one of the first ones I saw), but fell out by 2003 or so. Just getting back into it this year. I loved stuff like the God of Gamblers series.

Nice! I love the nostalgia of checking out past hobbies/joys. I don’t think I have seen many hk action films but I do recall Andy Lau from another film I have seen, Infernal Affairs. I'll have to check God of Gamblers out.

Update: Movie choice was The Werewolf Within. A quirky little thriller-esque. Nothing amazing but not mad I watched it. Made me laugh.

Pool, pizza, friends, beer. Kids went right to sleep. Couldn’t ask for a better night!

It’s going to take a while to feel like yourself again, and you may just feel like a different person altogether. We don’t have a lot of tools to handle what we’ve all been through. Follow your instinct and don’t pressure yourself.

Finished up a 5 hour remote interview, nachos at El Cap, and picking up my brother from RIC. Super tired, but feeling better heading into the weekend.

Me too! I wasn’t really looking, but the price may be right. Caught a quick glimpse of a hummingbird around our empty feeders too. Trying not to encourage the bird flu thing affecting everything.

I know, I hope bird scientists figure it out soon. It may be related to a fungus that affected the Brood X cicadas which is why the dead fledglings seem to be concentrated around the northern VA area. It all sucks.

I had a horrible ass day so I’m trying to lift my mood. Might play some video games or make cookies.
And while it is July, I think it’s time for a Christmas movie. They always make me feel better and baking cookies would make it extra special.
