Took my girls (3, 6) camping for the first time. Also our first time in a popup camper (my wife and I were always tent campers before). We stayed for the week, since we planned this super late and couldn't get a site for the weekend.
It's been about 7 years since we've camped (my wife was 7 months pregnant last time, we visited friends at the camp and slept in a hotel), and it was really nice to get back out.
Wow, this place looks incredible! I live in southern Wisconsin, and I've never heard of this park before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I'll be sure to find my way up there this year or next!
I would suggest the 300 campground. 200 is a tiny loop, and 100 is very near the entrance. 300 is nice and wooded.
I've only gone to the falls, but the trail there is nice. The others are likely well maintained like the falls trail.
There's not many sites in the 300 loop that were horrible - most had plenty of room and were isolated enough to not have annoying neighbors. One site next to us had new people every night, and only one night had annoying people - teenagers that were up laughing and talking louder than necessary until 2am. I don't mind people talking, but after 11 or 12, it's time to keep it quieter.
Shhh, don't tell people from Minneapolis. Minnehaha Falls is much, much more beautiful and people should stay there
