A Fraction
There is grief in a fraction, once at hopes, in glory of its whole numeric form now reduced to less than. A life is meant to be whole, correct? So as a breath, a stretch in the grass, a heartbeat.
I danced with a fraction before. I appreciated it's strength to keep swaying to music ever so pleasing, but it's duty is also to remind me the song will eventually end. Like a ticking timer the fraction will run out, find a whole number again. A life is meant to be whole ... am I still correct? Not to be reduced to fractions?
There in the last stage, acceptance takes a bow, a roaring applause availed by the crowd. On to find a whole again as I bid thanks one last time to the fraction.
