Help me locate knock sensor!

Trying to locate the knock sensor on my 2013 Kia Rio. I can see on the diagram where it's located (number 9), and I found that general area in my actual car--but where is the sensor? What am I missing? Help a broke graduate student locate and replace knock sensor?

It's under the intake manifold. Might be able to get to it from underneath but I think the oil filter may be in the way.

Thanks so much for your reply! Do you think I would need to lift of my car with a jack? Or could this be something I could do standing up through the top of my car?

You'll have to jack it up to get at it. Should be able to access it if you remove oil filter according to my buddy. He had to change one on his kia years ago and just did an oil change while he was at it. He said his was just above the filter and could be replaced with filter off.

On the same page of the workshop manual as that diagram, is a drawing of the sensor location:

The WSM says you remove the manifold to get to it:

Might be able to get it out without doing that, but without a lift it's not going to be fun.

Got it! I can't quite spot it clearly looking downward, unfortunately, I have a difficult time making the visual connections! I also don't have a jack, so I guess I'll have to haul it to a mechanic

P0326? Code of death. Go to the dealer, you might be able to get a free engine.

It was code P0326

I mistyped, but yeah. Cut your losses and go to the dealer. Even if you want to replace the knock sensor you have to remove the manifold (technically)

Ok! Can you tell me why you recommend I go to a KIA dealership instead of a mechanic?

The knock sensor is detecting the engine's connecting rods knocking, due to damaged bearings. There is a recall for the entire engine assembly because of this issue.
