Need one help regarding QNAP Nvidia driver

hey folks, so I popped a GTX1650 into my TVS-h1688X QuTS Hero NAS, and went to download the GPU driver. Of course, the old one in the app store fails. But... I go through QNAP.com, select my NAS, go to downloads/drivers and yes, there's an Nvidia driver there that looks newer. Yay!

Go to install it and I get this: Error 2021-07-26 17:43:30 --- 127.0.0.1 --- --- [App Center] Failed to start NvKernelDriver. QTS does not support this version of NvKernelDriver 4.5.4.1723.

WHY is QNAP pointing me at this driver when it clearly doesn't work. Also, I have QuTS Hero, and the log is complaining that QTS doesn't support it? I don't run QTS.

Also, I see a version 5.0.3 in the release notes, but I have no idea where to find this version. Edit: It's under App Store on Qnap site, so giving that a quick try. Update: Nope, I get the Unauthorized App Change message.

The card DOES get recognized by the NAS; I intend to use it for virtualization station usage.

Anyone done this?

Final? update: In Hardware, I changed the card to Virtualization Station use, at which point the device wanted me to reboot. So I did. Log message on reboot: NvKernelDriver is installed and ready for use. Wat.

I think you are supposed to install the driver before installing the card???

Maybe? It seemed to need the system reboot. I was tripped up on this before because I tried to install the driver first from the QNAP App Store app on the NAS itself. That was a while back.

Above was my first serious attempt at it with a different NAS. Note: My particular EVGA 1650 GPU just... barely fits in a TS-h886, with the plastic shroud touching a part of the metal frame, which is why I took it out and put it in a TVS-h1688X instead, where it fits totally fine. Ubuntu now runs in Linux Station just fine, but I'm not convinced I like or will stay with Linux Station vs Container Station. It's more to play around with, as I'll use the iGPU for any needed plex transcoding.
