Seems like it’s voluntary but FYI anyone that bought one: Elektron Page

Guess it was to much power for it to....handle
Such a weird thing for people to spend time worrying about. Just get a tiny USB power bank and a compatible cable from myvolts. Works for the Models line and even bigger boxes like the Digitakt.
I would have bought one of it was a rechargeable battery
Eh, the handle is slicker. I know it's not for everybody, but it's nice to tote around.
Surely all three customers will be shattered
They'll still have to figure out how to handle it.
Guess you could say the power handle has been... powered down

I bought one and after having it a month or two I'm probably not going to miss it when I send it back. The Cycles is a cracking little machine though.
Thought this one couldn't go worse.
New product development at Elektron is choking rn. #1: Power Handle. #2: Not to talk down the Digitone Keys but Elektron seemed to go that route instead of a MKII Analog Keys. IMO, a MKII Analog Keys (or a less awkwardly designed Digitone Keys) would be taking a big chunk of the market segment that the ASM Hydrasynth and Model Cobalt are selling in. That was money that Elektron left on the table by just not giving an existing product some new buttons and MKII detailing.
OS software team seems to be delivering though...
I adore my Analog Keys and have debated even buying a backup. I completely agree and would immediately buy an MK2. I'd kill for an update to make the joystick movement captured into the sequencer.
Not capturing pitchbend and mod kills me about DN sequencer, plus 64 step pattern limit. Overbridge making input lag a crazy amount takes that off the table too. Just have to focus on what it can do ...
in case this wasn't known you can pattern chain and record and it works very well.
the caveat of course that you have to constantly pattern chain to play back
Definitely reeks of lazy R&D that the digitone keys is literally a keyboard slapped on the right side of a regular digitone. There’s a reason parameter controls being behind the keys is standard in the industry.
I'm actually a big fan of side/front panel controls. Makes it possible to organ-style keyboard stacks that you can't do (and see what you're doing) with the standard layout.
But yeah somehow the digitone keys managed to do it in a particularly unappealing manner.
The design is a throwback to the Monomachine SFX6, a synth that was designed with the unique intention to have two people control it, one editing parameters and the other playing keys.
I think they had a certain group of fans from mono machine setup that way. I agree it's odd but it kind of does make sliding under a desk easier. I have an AK so I can't judge.
