Bot Functions
Match spam phrases / tickers / domains in both text and images via OCR
Tickers must be over 1.5b market cap to be marked as not spam. They will be marked as spam again under 900mm. This is to prevent jitter. SPACs are not allowed, but de-SPAC'd companies are cool.
Make sure position screenshots are useful
Nobody wants to see a useless squiggle line chart. We want positions. The bot will attempt to screen out useless pictures posted as Gain/Loss/YOLO. That includes the robinhood front screen with no attached position information in the gallery, low-budget YOLOs, etc.
Watch for brigades
Users from other subreddits often come here to be jerks about their pet stocks. We scan people's post history and label them with 1-3 apes depending on how apey they are in other subreddits. People with a high ape level will be prevented from commenting. Ape status falls off after a few days if the account no longer participates in problem communities that tend to cause issues.
Provide a user overview on submissions
You'll notice the table that is posted and pinned in the comments of most submissions. This gives you an idea of when the user arrived, how much they've posted, and even allows you to use the included links to update your "first seen on" date by sending in the content ID of an older reddit object that you authored.
Submission duplicate prevention
It happens fairly often that people submit screenshots of the same tweet (or other media) because they all see it at the same time. The bot will compare a submission's image text to the image text of other recent submissions and reject duplicate pictures of the same TV segment, for example.
Bot spam comment detection
We reject comments that are duplicative - the exact criteria is best left vague but all comments are screened
Yacht thread
This is an experiment of mine that has yet to take off, but the yacht thread can manage an approved user list who can post in it, all others are excluded.
Popular ticker thread
People seem to like to spam their tickers here assuming that more volume of ticker mentions will magically make WSB want to buy it. We put the 3 most talked about tickers into their own thread so the next time a GME-type event happens, or during the next memestock, there will be an automatically managed area for these things to play out that won't completely sidetrack the typical trading day in the daily thread.
Twitter updates
The top 5 tickers by mentions are tallied and posted in the morning so they know what we're up to.

Just doing my Brigading cross-checks and found this. LOL.
Hey Dan, hope you wouldn't mind helping me out with something when you have a moment
I was checking this bot page because I didn't get a response to the modmail I dropped to see if I could figure out my comment restriction in WSB and just saw this in VM's description above
The bot says it drops the 'ape status' in a few days if the acc doesn't participate in 'problem communities' - thing is before yesterday I hadn't posted much in the last couple of weeks except the daily thread in the BB sub which I mod, so that would seem to be what's causing the issue with the bot since I still have the triple ape flair
Could you please take a look?
You have selected the least competent mod of WSB to communicate with because I thought the apes had something to do with donations to the ape fund....
Seriously, I cannot even hello world in Fortran 77 (wish I was joking).
If you need an excel macro, I might be able to help, but best to wait for mod mail.
Lol alright, appreciate the feedback - been a few days since I sent it in so hopefully it doesn't get buried
On a side note, I wasn't aware of what Fortran 77 was so I think I have you beat (not in the good way) haha
I've asked in discord, might get an answer there... But no promises. Usually it's just a place for them to troll each other and share foodie pictures.
