Plausible what if scenario

What if I hired a bunch of helicopters to airlift the MCG and fly it to another state? What happens to the grand final? Can the rules be fair and have the game played in a non Victorian state while also satisfying the requirement that it be played at the MCG?

Mr. RobDogs, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in r/AFL is now dumber for having read it. I award you no upvote, and may God have mercy on your soul.

A simple wrong would’ve done just fine!

What if they built a 1:1 replica of Melbourne next to Perth?

Even better idea, what if we just rename every stadium in the country to the MCG. Then the grand final can be played at "the MCG" every year. It'll just be a matter of which one...

Or just play the Grand Final used by cricket teams with names starting with "M". The 2021 AFLGF to be at the Melville Cricket Ground.

We just move some of the turf and plant it outside the boundry line. Simple.

What a rebel move

But is it still the MCG if it's not in Melbourne?

14
SolTherin•

Yes, it becomes the Moved Cricket Ground

Mobile Cricket Ground

They're taking it to Mobile, Alabama?

Fan-fucking-tastic.

Short Answer : No

Long Answer: If this was even plausible, AFL would have moved every stadium to the MCG, so Richmond could play 22 home games a year.

Nah, you wanna build about 38 train lines next to eachother and chuck it on them. Helicopters are fucking gacked.

6
ShramoGeelong•

Hang on. Youll need trains inbetween the tracks and the G.

5
Razzle_Dazzle08Brisbane Lions•

Sounds like a job for the G-Train.

Definitely plausible

I'd love to actually know how much the MCG actually weighs now. There is so much concrete in that building it's not funny. Would be interesting to know how many choppers it would take. Where's sirswampthing?

Do it and then we'll talk.

If its at Optus, can we not move a portion of the MCG turf to Optus. it was cringe worthy last year.
