Corgi/Shepherd mix question
We rescued a 1 year old(ish) Corgi/Shepherd mix. He's pretty nippy generally and especially toward one child, which we are working on. But the real issue is at night. If he sits on my or my partner's lap and we try to move, he snaps and growls wildly at us. We like to have him near us / on our lap, but we have to be able to move. Sometimes we can get him to jump up for a toy, but most times, he's not interested in moving. Any ideas / possible causes or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

teach him 'place', with treats. make this command solid and fun. you'll need a release word as well.
then, the moment he growls you send him to his place. give him a min and allow him to return. and you do it every time he growls. so the lessons are:
- to hang out with us you have to be civil
- if you don't like something, you leave instead of thretening.
I would also encourage you to do husbandry training, muzzle training, and general training with treats and fun. If your issues persist or worsen, or if you just feel like it - consider working with a reputable dog trainer (if money or logistics are an issue, online consultations are a great choice)
