Do most fillomino puzzles assume that you can add regions that are unclued by the initial numbers in the grid? I've always assumed that you couldn't add any unclued regions, but the solution for a recent puzzle required it--the book's answer key confirmed that the solution intended the solver to add an unclued 3 region. Being able to add regions seems less elegant to me, but maybe I'm way off base. Thanks

My wife asked me to show her how to solve cryptics. She just solved one that clued an L with the word "little." She said L never stands for little, and though I picked up on the intention of the clue, the more I thought about it, the more I agree with her. I'm sure you could think of an example or two, but it seems weak.

Anyone have strong thoughts about clueing L with little?

Whether or not it's actually alcoholic, it seems irresponsible and just shitty to give a recovering addict rum. Especially if they've specifically asked about it. I mean, maybe John said it was fine as long as it was nonalcoholic, but it felt really shitty to me.

Is there a subreddit dedicated to Christians supporting their children who are gay?

One of my kids has recently come out, and she worries how grandparents / extended family will react when they find out as the whole family is very active in more conservative churches. My wife and I have made clear to our daughter that we support her and if anyone has an issue, it's their issue. She's still really worried though. She doesn't want to come out to the rest of the fam yet, and she's not really a talker, so it's hard to know how to help her. My wife and I are just looking for resources and ideas for how to support her without abandoning our faith and without being able to tell the rest of our f

Thoughts on this laptop for $700:

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 - 2022 - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Graphics - 15.6" FHD Display - 120 Hz - AMD Ryzen 5 6600H - 8GB DDR5 - 258GB SSD - Win 11

Looking for pretty basic gaming. Nothing really elaborate. Doesn't have to run Triple A games well. I'd like to stay around the $600 +/- $100 range. I know nothing about how to purchase a computer for what I want. Thanks.

I dropped my phone (galaxy a51), and now the screen no longer works. It's mostly just black with an occasion overlay of beautiful purple lines. I'm still waiting on a replacement phone, so there's hope that my photos are backed up on Google, but I don't think they are. Is there any way to get my photos (and other data) off the phone? I've tried all the things I can find online (e.g., droidkit, android transfer). Apparently I didn't have the right thing switched on to allow transferring data through the USB, so no computer will allow me access that way. Everything I've found starts with instructions to turn on USB transfer, but because the phone screen is broken, I can't do that. Thanks for a

I tend to play simpler games on the computer (e.g., EU4, Dyson Sphere Program, Cities: Skylines). I've never had a gaming laptop, but the old family computer died. I'm looking for a computer that I'll only use for games, but not for anything intense. Any good ideas? I'm really lost on how to make pick one that won't be a waste of money for what I want. I plan to use my xbox for the triple A games. Thanks.

Budget and location:

US.

Budget is flexible. I'm more worried about wasting the money. Like, I could get a $1000 computer, but is that wasting money considering I won't really be playing demanding games on it?

My kids (8-12) want to have a chance DMing an adventure. Any advice on one-shots that a kid would have fun running? Not really worried about content or whatever. Just something that allows for some creativity, but also gives pretty clear parameters to help them out. Thanks!

We rescued a 1 year old(ish) Corgi/Shepherd mix. He's pretty nippy generally and especially toward one child, which we are working on. But the real issue is at night. If he sits on my or my partner's lap and we try to move, he snaps and growls wildly at us. We like to have him near us / on our lap, but we have to be able to move. Sometimes we can get him to jump up for a toy, but most times, he's not interested in moving. Any ideas / possible causes or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In my current Milan game (started and played since 1.31) the game crashes on the same day in early 1600's (I think about 1604?). The game gets to July 7, stops moving forward, and when I click the mouse, the game crashes. Anyone run into this and have a fix? I don't play around with settings or anything like that. Thanks!
