[S15 Spoilers] Glint talks about where Ghost's go when they decompile...
Annnnd-- Ghosts don't even know! Petra mentions that Savathun has asked where Ghosts go when they 'dissolve' Glint's personal favorite theory is that Ghosts decomplie into a quantum superposition and become a 'living wavelength'. Which sounds about as good as any.
Though maybe the more interesting information here is Savathuns fascination with poor Glint...

Our ghost says he lives in our backpack :D
I just took that as a metaphor for whatever form ghost keeps stuff in when not in use.
Transmat system so data subspace. Would make sense if it was a wavelength seeing how the transmat system is based off the Vex Gate technology that Clovis Bray was so interested in.
Vex gate and their data recompiling is based off wavelengths seeing how Rasputin disabled them with classic music.
I don't recall transmat being associated to Clovis' Vex research-- I believe it was actually a consequence of Engrammatic (Engramic?) Science!
But, I could be wrong, could you link me???
Can't, it was all old ghost things they said back in Venus in destiny 1.
Also engrams is also based off Vex technology. Clovis Bray based a shit ton of his work off the Vex. Hence why so many people theorized back then that he had a kidnapped vex mind underground somewhere on Mars.
Programmable matter, engrams, transmat, Exo Minds, they're all based off the Vex.
IT IS NOT A METAPHOR!
Maybe that's just what he calls the hammerspace where our inventory is.
welcome to the backpack dimension, we have zippers
Underrated ghost voice line; Nolan North crushes it
Dinklebot would have been better
honestly it sucks how much of a nightmare the story changes and stuff were for him, especially since he was a pivotal character so he basically had to say so many lines, nevermind the fact that he was apparently also treated pretty badly.
though i'm glad the recasting did happen, because i don't think ghost wouldn't have had as many lines as he does now if dinkle was still playing him, or they would've been forced to recast anyways because of dinkle's schedule, just like with Ikora
You mean having so many lines that he replaced our characters dialogue completely?
Bring back the Dinkle.
I’m of the opinion during the end of the Khovostov quest that Nolanbot should’ve glitched out for a moment and revert back to Dinklebot when he said:
‘And thanks….ya know….for being my Guardian.’
He was our Ghost too.
However odd it sounds I liked his slight monotone.
And all you guys downvoting, our current NolanDroid sounds almost exactly like GuiltySpark 2.0 which I hate because of being a prior Halo fan. At least I still have my Frontier Shell to hear the better and OG Ghost, Dinklebot.
And honestly I just thought it was that Game of Thrones conflicted with availability and so he had to part ways.
Will never get over the recasting. I love you, Nolan- with all my fucking heart, but the direction they took Ghost is just tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo[oooooooooooo much in a direction that I fundamentally disagree with. They went too much in the high-pitched and thinks-he's-funny direction.
I miss my Centuries-Old, Battle Weary, quiet Dinklebot.
I agree. Dinklebot was just fitting with the atmosphere of Destiny. And like my other comment I put says, Nolan just made Ghost sound like GuiltySpark 2.0. If you've played Halo it may click as to why I would hate NolanDroid's voice
Nolan Ghost is too damn cheery all the time.
I do agree that he's just a little too bubbly 90% of the time.
Prison backpack
But... we have no backpack.
...Is this some kind of prison wallet situation then
I've never seen a guardian poop. So maybe it's because Ghost lives in there.
Icebreaker noises
I kinda ignore a lot of the stuff said from Red War stuff. A lot of it is for the sake of “humor”
That line was from Destiny 1.
Yes. It was one of the original lines in the SABER strike. Ghost would say something about him being jealous of Rasputin's bunker while he lived in our backpack
Ah, been farming nightfalls, so I keep hearing it from the Exodus Crash Strike. Ghost about preferring to be in our backpacks.
The line is said again in the Exodus Crash strike. It's after the part where you stand on the plate and kill the servitors. He says something like "I'm never leaving your backpack again." or something.
"It's scary outside your backpack"
Yup it was, but now I think about it it seems very similar to something in D2… though I don’t think it ever happened
There is a strike where ghost talks about living in our backpack in destiny 2
