For those interested in reading some of the pages of the Rubicon, the raid lorebook, here is a link! https://imgur.com/gallery/rubicon-lore-books-2-5-d2ZBFls

One of these stories is an interesting look into the history of the Witness by one of its Dissenters, a historian. Little is told to us about the foe, not their nature and capabilities, other than their resolution to prevent the Witnesses goals. They drove them right to the edge-- drawing a comparison to a Hive God being held at knife edge within their Throne World!

And then this foe tried to offer the Witness and alternative, a choice. You can imagine how that went.

It's very interesting that this matches the shape of the Gardener

Collectors edition spoilers ahead, as a warning.

A lot of people have been excited by the mention of 'Glass-Minds' the Witness' precursor species used as divination devices, which the book itself points out as having similar descriptions to the Vex! Some of us have become excited to find an 'origin' for the Vex, and others have pointed out a seeming paradox in the Glass-Minds seeing very Vexy sounding machine plagues eating up planets.

So what's the truth? Is this the origin of the Vex, or a red herring? The answer is:

It doesn't matter.

The things we know concretely about the Vex follows: they are a form of intelligence that utilizes simulation in place of consciousness or subjectiv

In this weeks veil containment, we get confirmation by Chioma's log that Neomuna as a settlement-- and indeed the vital containment structure around the Veil-- was built using SIVA.

It wasn't hugely in doubt that SIVA wasn't the root of Neomuna's nanites technology, but I know there were some doubters among us!

So in the postgame, Osiris is standing next to a bunch of containers holding the different elements of Light and Dark, along with some of the lore in the expansion, here's what has been set out concretely. This contains minor spoilers for bon-plot critical lore entries.

  • First, Light manipulates the physical world, while Darkness manipulates the mental and metaphysical. The two forces have no moral influence whatsoever, beyond the big entities that use them most obviously.

  • in the Strand lorebook, Osiris theorized that the shape and visual motif of the elements, particularly the darkness elements, are not fundemental. Rather, the elements shaped themselves into the expectations of the p

Annnnd-- Ghosts don't even know! Petra mentions that Savathun has asked where Ghosts go when they 'dissolve' Glint's personal favorite theory is that Ghosts decomplie into a quantum superposition and become a 'living wavelength'. Which sounds about as good as any.

Though maybe the more interesting information here is Savathuns fascination with poor Glint...

EDIT: damn you autocorrect! A universe WITHOUT electrons!

Nuclei are held together by the residual strong force, yes. But in a universe that has, for mysterious magic reasons, become devoid of electrons, would nuclei remain as stable as they would have with orbiting electrons?

I know that the nucleus basically has no baring on the chemical interactions of its electron shells, but do the electron shells have no baring on the nuclei system too?

S'in the title! All yesterday and this morning, it takes roughly two seconds for any skill or spell to start working. Combos are a pain. Talking to NPCs and other things also have a very noticeable lag before kicking in.

This a problem for anyone else?

EDIT: I'm on Balmung, forgot to saaaay.
