Somewhere on the Hoapili Trail, looking towards Koho'olawe?

I did a Google lens search on the image. Takes you to the photographer's website. Kaho'olawe Island it says. https://www.picturesplusprints.com/shop-art/art_print_products/kahoolawe#!

that's Kaho'olawe in the picture but the picture was taken from Maui

Yes. It’s Makena beach I’m fairly certain. Where exactly, not sure. But it’s right around Makena.

Edit: it’s gotta be at the lava fields just south of Makena. Thats “fresh” lava and that one of the only places in Maui you see that type of Lava.

Didn’t know Maui had any active volcanoes

Haleakala last erupted several hundred years ago, so is likely just a dormant volcano.

Calling it active would be a stretch though.

The lava field past Makena and La Perouse is awesome landscape.

Calling it active is accurate. Haleakala is classified as active by USGS. It is not anticipated to erupt, but it could. Similarly, most of the volcanos on the west coast are still active despite hundreds of years since their last eruptions

You are accurate, though last I checked there's some debate on the matter, especially as the most recent flow is some hundreds of years older than previously thought.

It's certainly not a worry for the foreseeable future.

It's a picture on the wall in our Airbnb in Maui and can't figure out where it was taken. Does anyone have an idea?
