Rich Eisen's take on Dashaun not as good as Gregg's

He has on several broadcasts called for Dashaun to play and his entire crew chimes in on how outraged the Texan fanbase must be that he is not playing. Did something happen on all the investigations that i missed? Posting here because I am glad 60%G keeps it sane.

footNote - I am far from a saint and do not (normally) live on mount pious, but listening to Eisen makes me kind of want to eat a fart to clear the bad taste.

This seems like a dreadful take from a guy like Eisen, who has normally come across fairly level-headed. I can assure you, the majority of us Texans fans want nothing to do with Deshaun.

I don’t think the nfl would let him play

If that's the case the NFL needs to suspend him or put him on the exempt list.

Maybe but why play him? Why risk him getting injured?

Possibly, but he’s not suspended yet. On paper, the Texans could play him now, they’re just choosing not to (correctly, in my opinion).

I suppose that if the Texans announced that Watson was starting, the NFL could jump in and suspend at that point, but I find that unlikely. If they wanted to suspend him, they would have already.

Of course, if/when the court makes an official ruling, it would make sense for the NFL to step in at that point.

i am a big texans fan and really do not want watson to play. fuck watson. that being said-i want to get ample trade value for him. no more peanuts. some might say you cant have it both ways. I say fuck him in reality he should never play in the nfl again, but in actual reality he is a highly coveted player and if the texans were to drop him, he would be picked up and starting in a heart beat

It's crazy how quick this whole thing managed to change the opinion of Texans fans towards Watson. I remember when he first started holding out and y'all were mostly behind him because, yeah, the organisation sucks. The owner's neighbour gets involved and y'all are basically throwing the noose at Watson yourselves. It's funny, I've been watching the last two weeks with my girlfriend who is new to the sport and there's not a Redzone highlight that goes by where I'm not highlighting this or that shitty player who did this or that back in college - it makes you think what other players are being protected by their organisation up to the moment they start getting uppity and start thinking they're in the NBA where they have some semblance of power.

Damn dude how are you going to ignore that The dude sexually assaulted 22 women? How are going to act like that doesn’t affect how we view Watson. The dude is a serial sexual assaulter. I don’t understand how that’s always left out to the conversation. He had 50 different massage therapist last year alone. Watson is an amazing football player but a TEEEERRRRIBLE DUDE!

I know it's guilty until proven innocent in America and low-wage workers are the least likely people to embellish stories with monetary gain as a potential reward, but maybe don't just eat everything the Texans owners and his lawyer neighbour are feeding you before even looking at the menu? Southern Justice hasn't always applied exclusively to the guilty...

Man you sound crazy. What benefit do the Texans have by conspiring against Watson? How does they help them at all? We’re still paying the man. We’re obviously trying to trade him. How does implicating him in 22 sexual assaults help his trade value? It makes no logical sense. Two of the women pushing criminal charges against Watson are not suing Watson in civil court. The man had more than 50 different massage therapists in the last year. Watson already admitted himself to eliciting consensual sex with these massage therapists. He has 22+ cases against him albeit some are more credible than others but they’re still pretty damn credible.

I know there’s been multiple people with Eisen’s opinion, so it’s not Gregg specifically targeting him. But to me when Gregg talks about “people in the media” talking about Watson, I always imagine Eisen comes to his mind because he usually trusts Eisen for good takes. It really is a disappointing take and it’s one he keeps bringing back up.

Eisen is playing to the base.

It would FOR SURE be a bad look for the Texans to try to play him. IMO, if any team traded for him would be a bad look for that team. Hightsight is 20/20 but I bet they take the rumored 3 firsts for him had they known this shitstorm was brewing.

Do you remember when there was Buzz that the jets could possibly get watson. (pre draft, pre allegations). Houston would have Zach or Mac and all of the jets future pics and the jets would be in sad town.

3
GangsterFapThe Old Zeuser :OLD_ZEUSER:•

Yeah the three first rounders, iirc, was what the Jets offered and the Texans declined.

Also, to be fair, the Jets would probably fuck those three first round selections up anyway so the result would be at least somewhat similar.

Wow, that’s an embarrassing take from Eisen.

Jaywalking25•

This is totally on the NFL though.

Texans basically won't play him. Get abuse from people for doing so.

If they tried to he'd get banned, so why isn't he just put on the exempt list already? It's madness.

3
loveforthetripConnie Fox :CONNIE_FOX:•

I don't why the NFL doesn't ban him officially while the investigation is going on.

3

I'm sorry, didn't they deactivate him? Lol

They hate Rothlesburger (spelling?) for having consentual sex in a men's room. Shouldn't Dashaun's behavior deserve 21x the scorn? (is it 21 or 23 women who have accused him of uninvited sexual behaviors?)

Consensual ?? Wasn’t there his mates / handler holding the door so she couldn’t leave / escape. Appreciate it’s a sketchy story but I don’t think it was a harmless romantic encounter.

You are describing RAPE. if he raped her why isn't he in prison??

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Yes there may be charges incoming and rumours in the media but until he goes through the process we dont actually know anything about it, almost none of the evidence is public. And there are still no criminal charges.

-24
Akaida•

That's in the court of law, not the NFL. There is a vast array of credible charges with not just civil but criminal investigations being brought against him. This isn't he said she said bullshit. Even so he can be suspended from the NFL for all sorts of things that have to do with this case that doesn't mean any sort of criminal or civic ruling on the subject matter or the extent of it being true. And people are naturally unsettled by the Texans and NFL wanting to have it both ways.

12
GangsterFapThe Old Zeuser :OLD_ZEUSER:•

I'm no expert, but when there are this many cases against a person, it's usually bad. Bill Cosby: I didn't believe the accusations. I couldn't believe them, and I spouted the "innocent until proven guilty" and "probably just money chasers." Then like, a dozen other women came forward. You can't not assume the worst in this situation.

3
Roarestored•

Big thing to remember is he refuses to play for the Texans, I'd imagine he'd be playing until we knew more about the allegations if he was willing to stick with Houston.

whodeyjaredTHE QUIET STORM :QUIET_STORM:•

My thoughts exactly. I understand how it looks but he is not under any form of discipline at this time. I'm sure he will be eventually whether innocent or guilty.
