A good dex build?

Question

I'm wanting to make a dex build, I've only done a build like this with the sellsword twinblades but I want to do a different weapon, what should I use?

Lothric Knight Sword is a solid choice. Gotthard Twinblades are fun when you get them later on.

Also, the Partizan is a fun spear.

You can even use a UGS like a sharp Astora Greatsword or the Faron Greatsword.

Can't go wrong with Astora Greatsword. Surprisingly light and I beleive it gets an S in dex.

I had a lot of fun with the chaos katana. Can’t remember the name but it’s the one that’s hella strong but drains your health when you hit an enemy.

Sharp Lothric Knight SS, Sharp on infuseable katanas, and the Chaos Blade are good choices. Earliest of these you can get are the LKSS and Uchigatana.

I really enjoyed the onikiri and ubadachi

My most recent dex build used o and u in main hand and washinpole or murakumo in off hand, two handed off hand unless I needed big dps id switch to dual wield main hand

Used murakumo for pve stuff, would swap it for washing pole to get some cheeky chip damage in pvp, and switch over to OandU for that big burst damage

It depends on what you mean by "good dex build?" because PVP and PVE are different.

For PVE; damage and then speed is king. With that being said, Sellsword Twinblades are the absolute best.

For PVP; versatility is king. But in PVP, no one really sticks to one specific weapon, especially in the meta scene. Lothric Knight Sword, Claymore, Astora Greatsword, Lothric Ultra Greatsword, Saint Bident or Four-Pronged Plow, Harpe or Murky Hand-Scythe, CSS or Falchion.

If you just want fun but also good, then it depends on what you personally find fun. I'm a fan of the Astora Greatsword and the Lothric Ultra Greatsword myself. Both are exceptional as Dex. I also love the Flamberge, it looks fantastic and a little unknown tidbit about it is that it's charged R2 true combo's with it's second R2 just tapped (in PVP that is). The Rotten Ghru Weapons are also fantastic, the best part about them being that they can be buffed with Rotten Pine Resin while also still having innate poison damage on it, so poisoning enemies is insanely easy. The generic Long Sword is also my favorite Straight Sword; mainly because it's R2 has a true combo of R2, R2, which makes it's r1,r1,r2 combo effective because if you hit the third hit, you can also get a fourth hit.

Frayed blade is an awesome choice for a pure dexterity build if you have the dlc.

It's a bit unorthodox, but I'm having a lot of fun with a sharp flamberge and whip with an offhand crossbow.

Granted this is more dex/sorc build but I had a lot of fun with friedes scythe. It seems to overwhelm enemies and even mobs in pve.

Always kept the Astora as my main weapon though. No one likes the wa spamming scythe guy in pvp.
