Every single parents fear and concern. Anyone who’s laughing at what SRK’s family is going through might find themselves in the same position one day. Life’s just that unpredictable. Less judgment and more focusing on your own goings on is best.

We all know who those people are and why they are enjoying this.

Yeah and he hasn’t done anything which would directly put someone at harm. I don’t think it’s as big a deal as everyone is making it to be. Certainly not something for which a persons freedom should be taken for 10+ days. Fuck the war against drugs.

Yeah I think some people aren't understanding the situation, obviously you don't have the same family and might not have the same situation one day, but life throws curveballs, maybe some day life will throw you a curve ball (because of you or someone you know). It's easy to make fun of people's lives from the sidelines, but if we were in their shoes (whether he's innocent or not doesn't matter), we wouldn't want to go through something like this where your family is the center of jokes.

34
jstjoined•

This is so true! Parents cannot be with their children 24/7, at some time parents have to let go of their child and believe that they have given them enough perspective / moral compass to judge right from wrong. This is irrespective of the parents financial and social status.

23

Very true...no one can control what their child chooses to do...its sad that he is being blamed for all of this.

18
platinumgus18•

Also the fact that 70% of kids in India these days have definitely had an encounter with drugs. Colleges from tier 3 to tier 1 are full of them. Even the high roading arses here must have done them. I don't know why feel so superior.

14

Eh he is getting popularity tho. I'd wanna go to jail myself if it meant that I'm gonna be popular. I'm allowed to laugh at whatever I want, I'd laugh if my kid went to jail tbh

I get your point but this isn't a normal family we can relate to. There's infidelity, drug consumption, rave parties and that's just what we know of. Isn't his mom also a druggie?

Wait so your family is like that? I mean I'd want my family to be like that, everyday life would be way more gossipy and it'd be so much fun

-3
jack1509•

There would still be a key difference - that family is filthy rich and not grinding like a "normal" family. This obsession of people here to compare middle class family struggles with SRK is amusing. When you have that much money, the fundamentals of how you think and approach life changes. You can do all the drugs and extra marital affair as you wish but in the end you will still be more similar to the middle class Indians grinding it out than SRK.

Ah, so that's your problem.

Most of us don't have a cheating father and a cokehead mother. So, no. Most of us won't find ourselves in similar position.

Sounds like you believe anything. You’d actually be the perfect customer for any type of salesperson.. Gullible and dumb they’d rob you blind

22

You wouldn’t know, would you? People keep secrets. There are worse things in this world than having affairs. There is domestic violence, child abuse, incest, female foeticide & what not in what appear to be decent & good families. Difference being that it’s all kept hush hush whereas with celebs every little thing gets splashed in magazines & newspapers. Cut them some slack.

May be most parents are putting more effort to see what lifestyles their kids leading.

Very normal concern for a parent. I think most parents feel that way.

145
[deleted]•

This is shocking because this is the image I had of SRK. Very possessive of his kids, I find it hard to believe that his son was doing hard drugs at the age of 18/19 and he did not intervene. I don't know what to believe anymore, this is a complete circus. Only time will tell.

38
kanagile•

Lots of people do recreational drugs. SRK himself smokes, probably drinks as well. Plenty of developed nations have moved towards decriminalization and liberalization of drugs.

What is shocking to me is the regressive judgmental attitudes and pearl clutching people are indulging in on these threads.

49
AuntyNashnal•

Plenty of developed nations have moved towards decriminalization and liberalization of drugs.

We don't live in those countries. Until drugs gets decriminalized, you need to not do drugs or not get caught.

23
Ipukevodka•

Those countries also have good systems to regulate it's trade.

With a weak structure like India, it is kept in grey like prostitution.

Brothels run at local levels and police act only when shit hits the fan. Same way for ganja.

9
Ginevod411•

Not get caught part is very important. Someone with SRK's wealth and resources, even if they consume drugs illegally, should be doing so in a safe place where there is zero chance of any raid.

If SRK knew his son was doing drugs he should have never let him have a rave party in a boat where they could be so easily nabbed.

Nevertheless these laws are all shit and do nothing to help victims of drug addiction.

1
zilchhope•

Exactly. It is very normal for young people to experiment with recreational drugs. What boggles my mind is these people who are getting shocked upon knowing this. Makes me think they either have a really small social circle to not understand that there are different types of people in the world or they have a really myopic view of the everything in general.

10
SouthkaMasaladosaa•

Nobody is shocked. Everbody knew this. Its just that a person got caught

4
[deleted]•

Hard drugs are not good for anyone. Please research on it. No country wants hard drinks. Everyone is fighting war against hard drugs. Weed and soft drugs are ok.

2
[deleted]•

Those countries might get have legalized weeds but not hard drugs. The US is still dealing with opioid crisis and has not legalized consumption of heroines or opioids or any hard drugs. Hard drugs are bad for individuals and country. The one that legalize it are doing it only to curb the consumption not the other way around.

2
kanagile•

The one that legalize it are doing it only to curb the consumption not the other way around.

Ah! Glad you get it that criminalization does not curb consumption.

2
kanagile•

The opioid crisis in the US happened due to doctors, greedy pharma companies and lawmakers. It has nothing to do with regulating drug consumption. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-02686-2

2
msspezza•

Sure, but hard drugs like cocaine are harmful to a person’s health. A lot of developed countries have moved towards decriminalization because they also have a massive drug problem. Los Angeles is a perfect example.

Normalizing drugs is not OK - it creates massive health issues and suffering. If people are disturbed by hard drug consumption, that’s actually a good thing. No one needs to be judgmental about it, but having a blasé attitude about it just because that’s how people in the developed countries behave doesn’t seem like a way to ameliorate an issue.

1
jstjoined•

Its very much likely that the parents did not know and I am saying this as a parent of an early teen. Parents cannot be by their child 24/7, so they can't monitor what the kids are up to. It doesn't matter if you are an SRK or an average Indian that's the sad reality. I have heard of instances where 8th graders were doing drugs, without the knowledge of parents and ultimately died by suicide. The parents were normal working professionals did not even know. How do we know its not the same case with SRK and Gauri? No parent will see their child fall into the vices of drug no matter where they stay in the palatial Mannat or footpath of Bandra / Juhu. So lets not jump to conclusions.

Also experimenting with cigarettes has been normalised but lets not normalise experimenting drugs. I would urge everyone who wants to experiment to do it after 18 with your own money.

45

He is 23.

8
[deleted]•

Reports said he has been doing it fir 4 years or so.

1
[deleted]•

It's impossible for them to know. We are middle class kids and most of us manage to do weed and smoke and drink under 18 and still keep it a secret from the parents.

These people on the other hand, have loyal bodyguards, crores every month transferred to their accounts, has the full advantage of being untouchable due to the status of their father.

1
[deleted]•

That’s exactly how my parents feel tbh. Protective of their kid. Keep calling me up during a party and I get scolded if I don’t pick up. I don’t see the wrong here..

I feel the only way I think we can support SRK is not watch the news regarding Aaryan Khan. It’s crystal clear that they are blowing this up to distract us and will stretch this as long as people watch, stay entertained and not ask the real questions.

3†

you may not trust media articles but the court proceeding and NCB statements are in the public domain. The NCB did not provide any proof of wrongdoing. You can read court transcripts by the minute on the bench and bar website. There is no WhatsApp messages shared anywhere in any court hearing nor where any drugs found on him during the arrest.

SRK and his family do not deserve to be going through this

17
AayushBoliya•

Yeah, only poor people deserve this treatment

-9
Roxannesharma•

Did I say that anywhere?? Stop making this about rich vs poor, it's not!! It's a family who are going through a tough time. Last I checked, people who are privileged are also human beings who go through emotions and deserve sympathy when something unfair happens to them.

7
AayushBoliya•

Ohh man they will get out of it anyway, they don't need your sympathy. Think about countless youngsters who got stuck in such things, to never come out because they didn't had the connections or money to bribe, but their story will never be told.

5
Roxannesharma•

Yeah but even if they get out of it, it doesn't change the fact that they are going through a rough time, one they'll probably always remember-and for that, they deserve empathy!!

This a normal reaction from all parents.

The bigger issue is why they are using this drug/Bollywood thing as a distraction? Clearly there's something else bigger going on than a bunch of celebrities partying. Someone, somewhere has fucked up big time and it's being buried well.

15

Does celebrities take classes of savagery when they get old or SRK is just been there done that kind of guy. I have seen it all n have it all. His words these days are so witty n amazing. So precise.
