Which screen protector to choose for best fingerprint scanner results

Pixel 6

I bought Spigen tempered glass protectors for the wife and I, both of us are struggling to unlock our phones. For now I'm just using smart unlock with my ticwatch but for logging into banking apps and such it is a pain.

What screen protector are you using and getting good results with? Or am I gonna just have to use this thing without one?

*Edit I just removed the screen protector to test and the fingerprint sensor works flawlessly without it. So it's definitely an issue with the protector and not the phone.

I bought a TPU screen protector temporarily until I could get my hands on tempered glass ones. But now I find myself loving the TPU film protectors and I don't plan on switching. I do need scratch protection for my phone. For me it's very accurate and reliable.

Interesting, which one did you buy?

I purchased it from supershieldz. They have a two pack, I didn't put the first one on too straight so I had to use my second one. Another nice thing is that the film is much thinner and doesn't have a "lip" where the glass ones would normally have one.

Thanks for the info. I'll give those a try. I hate the lip of the glass ones as well.

Totally agree. P6Pro here and a glass protector has been impossible to find--plus I've heard the dot matrix protectors would render the FPS useless 😩

How long did it take to ship to you?

For me 4 days

I have some cheap 8 dollar 3 pack of screens from Amazon. Tempered glass. They have worked relatively well for me since re-registering my fingerprints to be honest. Apiker was the brand I think? Definitely not the best I've used. Definitely not the worse either.

Spigen ones just arrived today (phone hasn’t) but I have a bad feeling. I wonder if I’ll have better luck with film protectors.

Unless somehow I got a bad batch I would advise against using the Spigen ones.

Yeah, I am still debating if I should even bother unboxing them. Tbh, with Google Preferred Care and Gorilla Victus glass, I wonder if I really even need a screen protector.

I used an old screen protector which is not tempered glass and it worked fine 9/10.

Previously I had a 9h Pixel 6 and the sensor wouldn't work. Any non tempered glass should be ok at this point in time.

One of the official Made for Google ones that Google guarantees will work with the Pixel 6 phones

I saw someone say that you have to press it, not just swipe it.
