I do love how Ruby Dixon's mmcs are all about their girls. But her writing style really rubs me the wrong way. I don't like the humorous tone she strives for mixed with many fmcs being victims or witnesses of SA, and I generally find her fmcs to be seriously annoying as fuck, with a few exceptions. BUT the girl knows how to write some smokin love scenes, and I do love how respectful and loving her mmcs are. She is all about informed consent and that is like my absolute biggest turn on.

Sounds like {Broken by Elizabeth Kelly} it's a beauty and the beast retelling. The hero is insecure about his looks, but the heroine loves the hero and sees him beyond his physical appearance.

I just finished this and oh my goodness, what a sweet, wonderful read. I loved both the mc's so much, and I love that the conflict was legitimate and felt important to the story, not just some dumb ass "well we're at 80% time for someone to misinterpret an innocent comment" type deal. I do think the steam scenes could've used a little work but I am extremely nitpicky in that corner. Thank you for the recommendation, I so enjoyed it!! ❤

I absolutely loved King Sized, and I've been on quite the Jessa Kane binge for the last month or more. Honestly, a lot of her novellas are like this, so if you haven't spent much time going through her catalogue, you should. Although fair warning, she's like the queen of daddy kink and other taboos and virgin instalove, but the crazy really varies novella to novella. My other favorites of hers with the whole unattractive but appreciative mmc are Hefty, Bulky, Husky, and Burly. These were all so much fun. And also these two new ones she just released recently... Coaxing the Roughneck and Bayou Bruiser. They are both nuts, but definitely fit.

I really dislike the daddy kink, and I'm down with virgin instalove but I really hate infantilization... though I suppose that's part of the daddy kink. I totally get that erotica is a safe space to explore those things but it just makes me feel yucky personally. Most of her novellas just do not appeal to me because of that. I wanted to love Bayou Bruiser but I just couldn't get past those things 😔

I totally get it! I'm not a huge daddy kink person myself, but I think I've just gotten used to it with her stuff...haha. I think she does it better than most. Hefty does not contain daddy kink. The rest definitely do, but I think Husky has it to a lesser degree than most of her novellas if I recall. Hefty and Husky are some of my faves by her.

Husky is one of hers that I love. I just love it when the mmc knows he's the luckiest son of a bitch around and begs for it. So hot 😩

Try The maddest Obsession by Danielle Lori. The MMC is obsessed with the FMC for years before he finally gets a chance with her. Although, he does try to act "normal" or even cold, but his inner monologue says it all. Plus, towards the end, the things he says to the FMC are so adorable.
