See title. Many of you bought them knowing something fishy was going on. You deserve nothing, though we both know you'll be allowed to keep your illicit gains. I hope you know it will drive others to quit this game even faster.

It was on the tradingpost so people bought them
If they remove them people need to get their money back
Considering the 50% downvotes the post has it seems a lot of people did buy shit for cheap.
Or people just think the post is stupid
Either way they can’t go around punishing people for buying from the tradepost
Like in games like wow prices for items sometimes just drop to a 5th without duping involved
People running around with max trophies for pennies on the dollar is more stupid.
Best case scenario is to delete the trophy and refund their gold and give them a ban if they obviously were buying them to profit from.
If they bought 3 or less they probably didn’t intend to cheat too much or at all so refund is punishment enough.
I expect they'll delete all basic/major trophies and T3/4 storage chests created within the last couple days...
...which sucks ass because I just hit 200 furnishing and crafted three major fishing, a major harvesting, major skinning and major lumberjacking in the past two days.

Prolly makes much more people quit (like anyone who got any of those legitimately) than if they left them in game and just release better replacements with the next content patch
I hit 150 furnishing yesterday and crafted my first hope chest….that would be just typical if they took it away lol

No they didn’t. That scenario requires 1 trophy being posted vastly lower.
What people saw was 50+ trophies at a much cheaper price and immediately knew what happened. Some bought knowing and some didn’t because we got a big dick.
They should ban everyone with a major trophy, no way legit players have those. But in case dupers got around to owning houses, just ban all house owners.
If you aren't in a company by now where you can get someone to make you these and you are thinking of quitting because other people have them then you should probably just quit. Also why should someone get punished for sniping a cheap item on the market? I do this all the time and flip them.
You're in a company where they can just make the extremely rare trophy mats drop at will any time somebody wants a high tier trophy? Could you explain how they do that?
Some people were posting multiple buy orders "out of the blue" for these trophies today, knowing full well about the dupe and deciding to "suddenly" post a bunch of extremely cheap buy orders for them. That's not sniping a cheap item on the market in this case, even if they could try and claim innocence.
Ironically I don't use Reddit while I'm home playing NW so any information unless it is being spammed in Discord or in general chat (which I keep off) doesn't get to me. I didn't buy trophies today, but if I saw them I would have and not even thought twice about it or known why they were cheap until much later. And no I wouldn't expect to be punished for just playing the game the way it was intended. I can't help someone else is fucking it up and Amazon is doing nothing about it. You want to punish innocent people? Also at this stage of the game it wouldn't surprise me if people were legit mass producing some of these items and selling them off before others do and the price drops even lower. But I have people in my company that play this game all day, do all the chest runs every day, wear luck gear, etc. So no I don't think it is farfetched.

I can tell you with absolute 100% certainty this is not what has happened here, and Amazon didn't disable gold transfers game wide for no reason.
I could list you the large amount of evidence I gathered on my own, but the fact that there is a thread on New World Forums (bugs an exploits section) showing how the furniture dupe was done and now the gold trade in game is frozen goes to say it all.
I get the impression you're not super familiar with the drop rates for rare trophy items or dropped only storage chests, but if you were you'd know it would be impossible for one player to suddenly have 50+ major loot luck trophies overnight, and to decide to sell them for any price anybody wanted one for, or selling chests for less than the fixed gold price it costs to buy the faction rune to craft them.
I think you are misunderstanding something. I am not debating whether or not items are being duped. I am saying it is 100% feasible that someone is buying these items on the market and not even thinking about whether it is duped or not.
Completely disagree. Duping incidents are the only chance for casual players to get end game stuff. I would never be able to get voidbent armor or major trophies just from normal gameplay. Have to wait for the times these items show up this cheap. This somehow levels the field.

There should always be something for the dedicated player to achieve. A casual player should never have the top gear. I consider myself a casual player and know and understand this.
Those that spend more time in the game and are more competent with its mechanics deserve to have the best gear.
If you get into the game, fish for an hour, hit 10 ore nodes, play OPR, and then do 2 faction missions before logging off shouldn’t have the best there is to offer in the game.
Then the game should at least offer an option to get the best gear by spending real money. But new world only offers this through shady 3rd Party sites.

Someone made a post about how they got perma banned, apparently they made a cheap buy order to buy a bunch of trophies with the intent of reselling later for profit. That’s justice only my eyes

Several things on this. If its not a troll and OP legit got banned then:
Don't expect honesty for the reasoning behind their ban.
They didn't get banned from the very recent trophy duping, AGS doesn't work that fast.
Placing absurd prices(low or high) on buy/sell orders is not illegal.
