I picked a random Ferrari Fixed session result, curious to see how clean a race was. Was surprised to see fewer incidents than I expected.

However, what caught my eye was the IR gain/loss distribution - image and link to session below. The last 6 cars didn't complete a lap, and it looks like they were treated as having an equal finishing position, they all lost roughly 65. Fairly similar starting IR as there are plenty of splits. 3 obviously started and wrecked out, 3 may not have even started.

I'd always assumed the final position was all that counted, so P18 would lose more IR than P13, but it seems to have treated them as equal P13, and the only marginal difference is down to the sligh

First Mission R race, and this car is fun. It's easy to drive...it's the most arcade-game like car I've come across in iRacing. But for D class, or just people that aren't that hot maybe that's not a bad thing. It's fast enough to be exciting, yet the 4WD and stable braking mean it's mostly about learning your braking points and being smooth. Learning how to get the best from it will be something else, but it won't kill you while you're trying.

Overall, that was the least stressful race I've had in a long time, And if you turn the engine volume all the way down, the whine wasn't an issue at all, I was hearing wind and tyres and barely noticing the motor/drivetrain. And I love the cockpit, t

First of all just want to be clear, I'm fine with the no-fault incident points. I'm not suggesting incident points be assessed for blame. If you're involved it's reflected in your SR, and that should encourage us all to avoid incidents. That's fine.

However just because you can't assign blame 100% of the time doesn't mean you can't ever assign it, and in blatant cases a drive-thru penalty or DQ could be appropriate.

The game has lots of data it can use, and it doesn't need complex machine learning, it's just a list of the most common scenarios to check. For example "Was the lead driver going at roughly the normal pace at the time of contact? Yes. Did they break at roughly the right locatio

I'm new to the car and slightly below-average so I was expecting it to be a handful, but it's so easy to drive. That doesn't mean there's no skill needed because I was over 3 seconds off top-split pace, but even without the skill you can throw it around without fear and feel like a driving hero.

The other car I'm learning is the 911 Cup, and that's a buzz in it's own way. If you're not laser-focused it's easy to bin it, so it's hugely rewarding. But when I've not got the energy to take that on, I'll be coming back to the P2 (Fixed) for a blast of low-stress fun. Highly recommended.

I've not driven the 911 Cup much, but I like it. So much detail in the handling and force feedback. And it feels amazing on this track. The car can bite, the track can bite, it's not a boring combo I promise you. Give it a try if you like either.

There have been plenty of posts this week about reduced performance, stutters, and even one person whose PC froze a few hours into the Nurburgring Endurance race...ouch.

Just came across an article about performance issues and stutters being reported quite widely across various games. This is only anecdotal, but some people are reporting they are resolved by rolling back KB5001330.

...you get punted into a gravel trap on lap 1, spend the race nursing wing damage, finish mid pack losing IR and SR, and you think "YES, that was awesome"

Formula Renault 2.0 at Zolder if you're interested. New car for me, and it's a bunch of fun.

So, I'm not very good at iRacing. After over 200 road starts, my IR is almost exactly where it started. I've tried a lot of content but havn't found many cars where I can feel the level of grip, and havn't found any where I'm competetive.

Except at Oulton Park. Everything I've tried there feels awesome. Even the Radical makes me feel like a pro, which at most tracks I could spin every other corner. I'm guessing all the undulations work the suspension so much it just gives more feedback.

If anyone has the same issue, what other tracks bring out the best in the car?
