Dancing in the fire
we laugh we dance, the night is young
no scorch no scorn , we are numb
we toe the line from scars to fun
as the hour's pass, most go home
we who remain feel the flame
how fun it is to toe this line
how fun it is to lose the time
I shuffle while the fire bites and snaps
my feet give way, bones begin to crack
and all this time dancing in the fire
I failed to notice I drew its ire
no longer am I dancing
I sink into the flames
they wrap my body
I grasp for ground
the flame burns across my skin
and smoke fills my lungs
writhing in misery
I return to ash.
