Employer Vaccine Mandates

Do you think these employers are being paid to do this beforehand or do you think they’re doing it ahead of time for what’s to come? Doesn’t make sense so many employers would willfully implement and abide by this when it’s unnecessary knowing they will lose a huge portion of their own work force. Are only the large corporations that know they can survive doing this sort of thing?

I don't think they are being paid to do it. Companies by and large, want to be 'compliant' with the gov directives and many believe the info they hear so think it's a good thing and that they are doing their part.

Big business though has an invested interest. Money talks

OverdoseGodOP•

You think they are ignorant as opposed to malevolent?

Fun-Delivery-4404•

I think the general small business is ignorant. I know the big businesses are complicit and malevolent however

I also agree with that sentiment

Doesn’t distract from what’s going on tho

My company didn't mandate as of yet. They also realize they will lose some major players so..

This is part of the push toward a CCP-style social credit system: https://www.esgthereport.com/what-is-an-esg-score/

In order to do business, you need a good ESG score and you can bet your hundredth booster such a mandate will be considered. This would mostly be a motive for large corporations in America.

Otherwise, I think you have a lot of naive people. Some who believe the great reset is actually great. Some who think they’re doing the right thing. They genuinely cannot fathom hesitancy - and if the vaxxed in their businesses outnumber the hesitant, you can guess which side is more vocal.

It’s been stayed by a federal judge so any company asking you to do so is illegal and should be ignored.

Here's what I am seeing. My company is headquartered in Texas. It is a private business with a very conservative workforce and a very conservative industry. They have said from the beginning they are anti vaccine mandates.

The money being spent on quarantine, testing, contact tracing and the like is astronomically expensive. Anyone running remote worksites where people need to live onsite in close contact with each other working rotational shifts, Covid has been an absolute nightmare. The amount of money lost due to contractors alone getting sick, needing quarantine and lost productive time is absurd. When you factor in company people missing work and needing the same quarantine and medivac flights. We're talking expenses of nearly $2mm per month and lost revenue or budget overruns of another $1mm per month.

Last time I checked in my area, the workforce was something like 65% vaccinated. They are now implementing vaccine mandates for contractors only and practically begging everyone to get vaccinated. The thought is they are somewhat stalling and hoping the government or airlines will mandate vaccines for domestic air travel. This would let them avoid being the 'bad guy'. They have also said they are talking to lawyers as they do have some contracts with the government.

My guess is it will be mandated in the next 3 months. They don't give half a fuck if people quit. We routinely get hundreds of applications with any job listing.

This is at least an answer I can see as being relatable. You think your company is buckling afraid of being crushed? Bu they can’t afford to lose their workers?

1
Gravity-Rides•

When you say 'buckling afraid of being crushed' what do you mean exactly?

I'm saying we've been over the numbers as they basically have an open book management style for the company. The spend and losses on Covid for contact tracing, quarantine, testing, medivacs, lost production, budget overruns etc has been consistently between $2mm and $3mm per month company wide throughout the pandemic.

I am actually shocked they haven't mandated it yet. This outfit is all about making money and the bottom line. Sort of commendable that they are eating those losses every month because they don't want to force people to get a vaccination, even though I disagree with them.

This is paying overtime to others because an employee is out sick with Covid for 2 weeks, flying a specialty contractor crew to an offshore location, only to have 3 out of 6 turn symptomatic and need to be quarantined / medivac, delaying production on a project because 3 employees were identified as a close contact with a Covid + person and need to quarantined. The cost to the business of all this is $2mm-$3mm per month every month. Nobody is worried about losing employees to the mandate. The jobs pay and benefits are top tier anywhere in the world for one thing and for another, we have hundreds of qualified applicants for any single position posted. It would be tough losing say 10% of the experienced workforce all at once, but it isn't like they are irreplaceable or anything. Most people I have talked to said they would absolutely get a vaccination if it was mandated to keep their job, and the ones that have said they will walk, I don't believe them.

This is really interesting. I hadn't thought of it from this angle before but your right. It's funny that it all hindges on the Vax being the answer, along with the tight controls. Without that firm belief, they wouldn't be behind it.

Question is, is it the answer to what objective...

1
Gravity-Rides•

It's a really unique situation. Most employers don't pay for housing and feeding their employees on company property.

They very much want the workforce vaccinated. By all accounts, the vaccine does in fact make Covid "just the flu". If you can simply send people to their rooms for a few days when they catch it vs running a formal quarantine and monitoring system for symptoms, testing and contact tracing, it would save a lot of money.

2
OverdoseGodOP•

I really doubt your employer can fill the gaps of people missing because nobody really can. It seems like you’re trying your hardest to appeal to America’s right wing work force and I doubt any of them have experiences close to yours

1
Gravity-Rides•

IDK. Our industry was killed over the past 5 years but has been recovering. Like I said, we posted an external position last month and had over 100 applicants +10 years of experience.

It seems pretty simply to me. If you are paying people $40k per year at some 'yob' with low to middling benefits, sure, a lot of people will probably walk out over a mandate.

If you are paying people above average salary, bonus, above average retirement matching + pension, people aren't going to leave all that over a mandate.

1
BasedDeptGnrl•

They're doing it for woke points. There isn't even a legal mandate in place.

2
OverdoseGodOP•

Is it that or something more sinister

"knowing they will lose a huge portion of their own work force."

Has this happened anywhere so far ?... I see a lot of vague and hyperbolic media headlines.. but when it comes down to brass tacks it's always something like 5% or less.

1
OverdoseGodOP•

What I’m saying is a fact though in accordance to what I have experienced and perceived myself. That number you came up with on the other hand is entirely fabricated

2

What I’m saying is a fact

Then you should easily be able to cite examples.

I can just make you an example instead by exposing how willing you are to defend a doctrine that inherently hurts you and the people around you. I don’t have any sources, like I said was from my own experience. if that’s the only rhetoric you have for my comment then good luck

I'm glad someone asked this!!

Sooo

The company I work for im reeeelllyy close with the owners. We're a international company with a office on the west coast and east cost and one in south America. Granted we're not a fortune 500 company but we're big enough.

Anyways, our huge corporate holiday party we had. West, an East, and South America everyone got a bonus everyone got turkeys and just the works. The money didn't come out of the companies pockets it came from the fed. Why? The owner agreeded to the money given (Idk the ammount he still won't tell me and probably won't but he did admit he accepted money from the cdc for agreeing to the mandates. But I know it's alot cause I was looking over some of the books and in our East coast office they spent almost 127k in bonuses and filed under "misc charges")

I've been waiting for someone to ask this so I can say what I have seen.

By your grammar and presence on the internet it’s obvious you’re some Chinese shill or something. What’s your purpose?

1
wacka20•

Naw I just had a shit education is all. im all American dog, just got a lucky break in life where I didn't have to try too hard.

Had I not had the luck ive had I promise you I would probably be homeless.

2
OverdoseGodOP•

That doesn’t even make any sense. Tell your boss you should be fired as a shill

2
wacka20•

Ooo I've never been called a shill before. I guess I struck a nerve somewhere.

Makes no difference to me 🤷‍♂️
