[feature request] Alter the tag button so it looks like a tag and less like a battery.

Speaking for myself, I constantly hover over usernames in a futile attempt to find out what gives them their charge. For a while I thought it was karma level, which would be cool, but alas, it is not.

I submit that the tag image be angled a bit so it looks more like a label and less like a AA battery. Or, alter the tag image slightly in some other fashion. I believe it is a fairly minor UI change overall, but it might be interesting to discuss the ramifications as they pertain to the minimalist RES aesthetic.

If nobody else agrees, then I am an idiot and this post may be disregarded. Thank you for your time.

Mission accomplished!

Seriously though, if you want to make your own tag then go ahead and submit it.

I'm the guy that designed the tag. Sorry the votes in your submission didn't do too hot. Here was the rationale for the current tag:

  • Colors match the rest of the RES UI
  • Wanted the tag to be more subtle than it was before (_)
  • Attempted an angled design at first, but for how small the tag needs to be, it wouldn't fit and still read as a tag
  • Modled the tag after retail tags on clothing and such.

Have had the new tags in place since October of last year with no complaints or confusion yet. You're the first one. So I'll monitor the feedback and see if we get any other thoughts that agree with you.

Thanks for your input. I've been using a prior version for quite a while and only updated recently.

The new tag is indeed more subtle and looks better than the original text, but I'm thinking if the border and dot were darkened just a tad, and the blue inner piece removed, it might better achieve the label effect while staying minimalist.

Edit: or make the whole label blue?

If i get similar feedback from more users, I'll revisit it.
