HSV positive for two years. I told my new boyfriend today and I wanted to share my experience.

I was inspired by a post that was made on here yesterday and felt that I needed to tell my new boyfriend. The last time I told some friends they came up with some excuse a month later to no longer be friends with me.

I had told him early on that I had a secret because we had been talking about our rocky past relationships. He asked me to go with him to lunch today and I jumped on my chance to talk to him. I met him at his apartment and we went to eat. When we came back I told him that I needed to tell him my secret before I got even more attached. He knew I was upset and so he hugged me and told me just to tell him.

I started with details about my last relationship and told him about my "friends" leaving me when I told them and why I was so afraid of telling him. I finally just ended it with the flat out truth and almost cried when his response was to pull me in his lap and say "So?"

He told me that he liked me for me and that having it didn't change who I am.
