Medic Corps (at least Elijah Kaneshiro) Have Arrived in Mayfield, KY

EXTENDED DUGGAR FAMILY

Was looking through the Mayfield, KY Snap Map stories only to see Duggar-adjacent Elijah Kaneshiro posting gratutious video of the Mayfield destruction with a Medic Corp Hat displayed logo up on his dashboard. He was talking about arriving to help last night before I got so mad I had to close the video out.

Of course this comes after Gov. Beshear asked for unsolicited volunteers to stay away from the city itself so that the National Guard and Federal and State Agencies can do what they need to do. But the Medic Corps must insert themselves, huh?

I always think to myself they could just join the national guard but they only like to play rescue not actually do it, like JD being a constable, them being certified in some medic training but I’m not sure any of them actually went through the process to be full blown emts? (Correct me if I’m wrong). Going to Alert academy but never joining the military, Jim bob running to be employed by the government but running from government agencies…I mean the list could go on

It seems like fundies have their own parallel society that allows them to do whatever they feel like doing without proper certifications and to only serve people they approve of.

A parallel society is a great way to describe it!

Known_Feeling_7994•

Yep! They have their own version of girl scouts/boy scouts!! Ugh!!

17

Which is even crazier to me because up until a few years ago weren’t you not allowed to be gay in the Boy Scouts and also they were still separated (Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) and the girlscouts literally say “on my honor, I will try to serve god and my country” so like…what’s more fundie than the scouts tbh? Lol

4
Known_Feeling_7994•

Right! I'm a girl scout leader and we actually welcome all faiths and have always welcomed individuals who identity as a girl. It was started only a few years ago when the BS said they said they'd welcome girls... What?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!

topsidersandsunshine🎶Born to be Miii-iii-ild🎶•

Girl Scouts has been pro-choice and pro-sex ed for at least two decades, which is why a lot of conservative families pulled their daughters.

And of course, their version is better. When I first heard about it, I asked the kids if they enjoyed it. The answer was silence until the mother assured me it was much better than what I had experienced in scouting. I interpreted the silence on the kid's part was not wanting to lie to me.

And it starts with homeschooling

3
PonytailPrincess•

Yeah. If they joined the National Guard they might have to take orders from a gay person or a woman… the horror

16
SSTralala•

What's really stupid is all the good 'Merica karma they'd get from the cult while getting to play soldier once a month. That and the extra pay, but the ra-ra patriotism works wonders among extreme Conservatives.

That too. Anyone that isn’t part of their cult

Same with the midwife thing too. Jill could have gone to school and become a real midwife as a career. Instead she was just the fundie (uncertified) version of a midwife.

Yeah well the women are sort of exempt in my book because they are obviously not allowed by their headship to receive any higher education.

comparing volunteer responders (? prob not the right word i’m slightly stoned) like the medic cough missionary corps to the big one local to me- the Cajun Navy, is honestly anger inducing

Honey I would love to be saved by the Cajun Navy they sound like a great time just from the name.

Grifter pieces of shit. They need to be audited.

Please say that somewhere every day. I just feel you wish will be granted. We may not know for a year, but hey, let us all enjoy the monthly updates as each of JB underhanded money laundering methods gets shot down.

Pretty sure Lawson also posted that he's been "on the ground in Kentucky" since yesterday. MedicCraps is definitely there.

When really what Lawson needs to do is be prepping sandbags for when their own state of Tennessee gets another flood in spring.

"On the ground in Kentucky." Self-promoting fuckery. [puke]

10

They are on the ground in Kentucky. There will be gas taken for Medic important service. The heated motels will be used by the Medic folks instead of the homeless. I would not doubt anyone they "help" will be firmly requested to make a "donation".

We’ll see lots of him posing, maskless , while doing whatever fuckery he thinks he’s qualified for.

With tiffypics documenting it all.

I'm sure he'll get his Jesus Chicken soon.

Oh fuck these people. I’m from KY and my home state can do with out these assholes.

For real. We’ve got enough assholes already in this state.

Performative, self-promoting Christian Charity, ya just love to see it/s

That hat was designed to make "Corps" hard to read so that people would think they are actual medics.

Wow I’m originally from mayfield and I can’t believe they’re there. Stay away please!😂

I called this right after this disaster and there they are. Got to grift and take the heat off of Boob's failed political run and Pesty.

I wonder how much they will grift off of this. Anything they make is too much.

7
Reluctantagavewonder the streets with you•

When I first saw it starting in the middle of the night I said well the griftercorp will be there soon. It’s my husbands home state so I was paying attention to the storm.

2
Noelle_Xandria•

Medic Corps reminds me of how Scientology used to (maybe still does) go to disaster sites under the guise of offering help, but would instead try to enlist people. I used to be a Scientologist for a short time, and this was viewed as a positive thing.

7
rayray2k19•

When I was fundie-lite (and a teen) my church would do mission trips wherever disasters were. Teens and adults were invited. I could never afford it and that made me sad. However, what the hell was 13 year old me supposed to do? I can't imagine I wouldn't have just been in the way the entire time. I could have prayed with people and that's about it.

6
LowBlackberry0Evil Jo•

I know people want to help. FEMA says the best way to help is donate cash and stay away so experts already on the ground can get stuff done as efficiently as possible.

This is a devastating event, but Kentucky is strong, and all our differences aside, when our neighbors need help we rally and we rally strong. It made me so upset to see mediccorps come in when I know firsthand how capable Kentucky is without them.

5
Intergalacticboommodest, righteous babe•

The Amazon warehouse collapsed really close to where I live. I’m glad they stopped in KY and hope they stay away from here.

3
Pelican121•

It's disturbing how much they must be grifting to make it worth their while for all those involved 🤬

2
stillneedurmoney•

As a Kentuckian who grew up minutes from Mayfield and now lives near even more destruction in Bowling Green, FUCK YOU shitty ass grifters. There are so many places for people to donate directly to those affected; I noticed when I clicked on Lawson’s post he links NONE, just one directly to support MedicCorp itself.

Last time I looked, MedicCorps employees didn’t lose their homes; Dawson Springs did.

MedicCorp employees aren’t the ones whose businesses were flattened; Bowling Green’s were.

MedicCorp employees didn’t DIE trapped in a building as it collapsed on top of them; Mayfield’s candle factory did.

2
traveljunkie16•

👏👏👏 THANK YOU!!!

I live in BG and my family is from Mayfield. Get the hell out of our towns. We’ve had enough damage and destruction to last a lifetime. These people coming in just to look at the destruction and act like they’re helping are making the situation worse.

3

That is my thought. They drive around doing nothing! They are taking photos of intimate scenes of devastation; literally, lives turned inside out.

All so they can post the photos in hope of getting donations.

It's disgusting.

2
RegisteredAnimagus•

I don't understand the money aspect of this at all. Do they apply for grants? Get donations? Like who paid for having that hat printed? Who paid for the gas? Are they passing out supplies? Who pays for that? I work for a non profit and we have to scramble to afford to do anything, and these guys seemingly play war hero in every natural disaster zone they want to on a moment's notice.

1

MEDiC CORPS is a non-profit under a Christian umbrella organization, National Christian Charitable Foundation ("NCF"). I am familiar with these types of orgs, but haven't done a deep dive on NCF.
