Feeling like a fraud (warning: this is a sad post ๐Ÿ˜)

Dating

Hi ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ

So I'm 29 and I realized I liked women in the middle of the pandemic when a girl hit on me online and I... liked it? Like, an embarrassing amount. ๐Ÿ˜… Like many women on here I finally experienced what real attraction feels like and this was all I could thinkย about for the next few months.

Now, I never liked the idea of a relationship with men, it never felt like it was the right time for it. Recently I started to really want something serious with someone and because I don't go out much and just moved to a new city, I got into dating apps and... I noticed that I'm extremely picky.

Actually, I've always been picky, it's just that with men, the dating pool was larger so I didn't really notice that. I don't have a type physically, I don't care about their job or if they have kids, I just want someone to have a fun and witty conversation with and build up on that.

I've tried the being forward approach, being funny, just a "hi", letting her initiate, but boy, some women are so boring. Some don't even reply. I feel like most of the girls from 19 to 25 are on Tinder just for the validation of matching with another girl and that's it. Since moving here though I've seen a lot of lesbian couples walking on the street so there are actual wlw women here, I just can't find them.

I'm so hopeless to the point that I'm starting to feel like a fraud because the only person I ever felt a real connection with was a man. It's like, I'm attracted to women but can't find *a* woman that I'm attracted to. Does that make sense? It's like everything is in my head and not in the real world.

I'm honestly at a loss and thinking of swearing off dating for good.
