What pop culture references do you make with your baby?

HAPPY/FUNNY

My husband and I are constantly making references we think are hilarious but our baby won’t understand even when he grows up. Some examples:

-When our baby is working hard to push out poop we yell “Who does #2 work for?” from Austin Powers. -When I’m sick of singing kid songs I’ll do the Fresh Prince of Bel Air rap. -When he fusses for a bottle we use the 30 Rock line “Family, who’s in charge of my thirst?!” -When we talk about animal noises or sing Old McDonald we do one of the bad chicken impressions from Arrested Development.

What are yours?

My son's name is Abel and my husband is Ethiopian so there a lot of The Weeknd references in our family. Like he's the The Weekday because he was born on a Tuesday. It's funny because the preteens cousins make the references and it flies over everyone's head who is 40+.

Our LO is a Max so naturally tons of Mad Max references. I hear others talk of being “on the fuss bus” when their LO is fussing. We’re on “Fury Road” 😂

I sing “Push It” by Salt-N-Pepa when my baby is pooping

When our little guy was a newborn we joked that feeding him and bathing him at night made him turn into a gremlin.

My daughter wriggles a lot while changing her diaper, so i call her "Wriggley Scott"

Every time we go to change a diaper we do the "diaper time" song from always sunny.

My baby stomps his feet all around in his swing and I have a little song where I call him the Godzilla of the babies, smashing the cars and smashing the buildings. It’s a bit of a trogdor rip off.
