[1983] Cold Dead Magic

Hihi!

I finished my first draft of my first novel (AGH!) with all of your help. So here is the opener for my soon to be completed second draft. If you've done me the kindness of reading before, I've made huge developmental changes, so you won't be reading anything twice but you also won't be getting tons of new information. I supposed I'm more seeking help from folks who haven't read my first draft but I'll take any help I can get.

Since I've posted the biggest change is introducing a dual POV. These are the first 2,000 words of the novel so I'm interested in the classic questions:

1. What was awesome?
2. What was boring?
3. What was confusing?
4. and the scariest one; would you read more?
