[2833] Urban Gods (working title), chapter one
This is the first chapter of an upper YA urban fantasy I've been working on for a while. It's unashamedly a romance. Basic premise is that the ancient gods are real and one of them, Flora, has come to a small town with her modern children. I'm trying to stick very much to the original Latin and Greek sources for all the mythology to keep things as Classically accurate as possible, but I also make a bunch of stuff up. This first chapter is basically the meet cute.
I guess I want to know if pacing, descriptions, action, characterisation etc. all work. Also, I'm not from the US so if there's anything inaccurate feel free to point it out.
