Rand at the end of E8
He is afraid of going mad and so doesn't want to be around those he loves. For all he knows he did the thing and world is safe now. So his plan is too...wander around like a hermit for the rest of his life? Return to Two Rivers by himself? The way he just walks off by himself makes no sense. Presumably Moiraine lead the way to the Eye of the World and at best Rand only remembers the way they came which will take him right back to the city where his friends and lover that he never wants to see again are.
Meanwhile he leaves Moiraine by herself in the blight. Which is just rude, although he seems to probably not know that she can't touch the One Power. Which begs the question why doesn't Moiraine tell him that or make any attempt at all to stay with Rand and not be stranded, powerless, by herself? At best she maybe somehow knows that Lan is on the way, but still why not even attempt to stick with Rand until out of the blight at least?

I think Rand plans to wander around the Blight, aimlessly, distancing himself so he won't hurt anyone and just kill all the evil that comes at him.

Alright, I edited the comment - better? That's what I think, so I don't think it's a spoiler, as it never happened in the books.
