The great cyranvar. They blobbed to like 4K + dev in my Silverforge run. Some of the most fun I’ve had trying to protect AI from them.
Perhaps not the best approach to take, but one of the ways I "protected" the AI was by declaring on them and converting them to Dalcabba. Because I was the defender of the faith they'd be protected by me and they would receive the Dalcabba buffs to morale as well.
This type of Cyranvar of course also appeared during my Eordand run..
Some Wood Elf unified the Fay forest and became a great conqueror at
3220 or so (Edit: just checked, it's been a century since his coronation). The guy is alive and kicking at age 120 and has made the Serpentspine and Escann its second home, using Holy Wars and massively converting the populace of the conquered areas.I've been bracing for this for the last 50 years or so, where I've made some strategic conquests and alliances to hold them back. They've now declared on Marrhold, my ally who's been spiraling on revolts for a few years, and I've decided to accept the CoA.
They have the greatest income per year in the world, only ahead of me, and with three times my force limit. One initial, badly planned battle where I lost, I managed to kill 120k of them and destroy half of their manpower. They're still able to rely a lot on mercenaries, which scares me.
While I'm on the short end of the straw, I'm confident that I might be able to hold them back even if it means I have to devastate my lands. Worst case, none of my immediate neighbours hold any particilar grudge against me.
In summary, Long-Lived Great Conquerors are pretty busted.
EDIT: We won the first war, when I still had enough Morale to stackwipe them. When I fought against them, starting the war myself, I lacked as much firepower and ended up signing a White Peace. The amount of manpower from mercs is insane, and I can't think of a way of counteracting this on someone with so much goddamn money.
Yeah but long-lived great conquerors are lore accurate
They're a long-lived challenge as well, which I nervously enjoy. I guess Elikhand's morale is also busted, them having 5.62 versus my 8.14, which makes stackwipes easier to achieve.
