Show me what your front camera does in regular indoor light.

This is a crop of selfie I took of my kid hugging me. They all turn out this is normal indoor light during the evening. Like a watercolour with a cloudy halo around the picture.
Seriously. Wth?
Outdoor selfies in outdoor light turn out fine, so I don't think I have a faulty device. Just. Indoors is so bad I don't even know what to say.

this is normal for the 6 series. really disappointing. that's the result of Pixel moving to hole punch camera. but then again Samsung phones don't have this issue.
try testing a video call in the same room with any other phone made after 2016. everything will beat the pixels (especially mid rangers).
everybody always says "but the ISO!" but it should not be this bad - my pixel 2 blows the front camera and video quality out of the water

Can you take a sample selfie? Post a crop like I did.
My rear camera is fine indoors.

There is a lot of iso noise in the preview but after the picture is taken it looks decent. Here is a test https://photos.app.goo.gl/mgNGzfT64NzGcvAm7 Pretty fun light since there is a table lamp across the room and it's evening here. FWIW the camera took that automatically in night mode
I did a comparison with my pixel 5 and pixel 4a5g. They also show similar iso noise in the preview.

My pixel 6 pro selfie is ok nothing crazy but still very good. Does the normal pixel 6 and pro share the same front camera?

Can you try taking a picture with the camera extended forget away from you? I'm curious about something.

If that's in normal light, it nothing like mine...I'm not blown away by the front cam, but it looks like you would mostly expect from a camera, not a painter

I have to say I love everything else about the P6P, but the front facing camera is seriously lacking. My Pixel 2XL front camera was way better.
