I lost myself
I lost myself once
Wandered into the woods
Untouched
Unharmed
Serene and calm
In the meadow
Watched the sun fadeaway
And moon take the stage
The emptiness, the peace
In the alleyways of my poetry then
I lost myself twice
Feigning metaphors were none existed
Weighing expectations
With paper clips that would but unfurl
I heard raven with the melancholy
Where there were but illusions
On loop like the playlist I found ‘our’ song in
I lost myself thrice
Within elusive inhibitions and emaciated thoughts
When I let it slip
The void?
Is meant for nobody but me
A figment of time still resides afresh
In the grave I dug
Elegantly sonder . I would’ve lost myself again
Had something remained
With nothing to retrace
It’s better this way
Destruction preceded creation they say.

This piece is really interesting to me and I personally relate to it on many aspects. One is especially when you mention getting ""lost"" in "the void" like.... diving into intrusive thoughts (or that's what it looks like it's hinting at). Kind of like an artist getting lost in true emotions and the emotions you are trying to portray in your art or poem or.... creative outlet of some sort-- these emotions are getting like tangled and confused as what is authentic and real vs what you or your subject may be facing in a mist of a poem or story...... (idk if any of that made sense I'm sort of rambling but...) I like this piece a lot and believe You have a lot of talent with word choice. Continue writing my fellow poet!
Ok I came back because this poem is a head tune. I love the line " feigning for metaphors {Where} were non existed" it ... It just hits spot on for me hah!!
