Lol no. Watch AEW. Wednesdays at 8pm only on TBS.

No, WWE isn't really worth watching. There are a few mildly interesting things, but everything else is lazy, boring, repetitive garbage.

34
StarL1ghter•

AEW is the closest wrestling product to that era right now.

24
philly_boiPunk > Rock•

Definitely not. Watch AEW.

22

Try watching it and decide.

Nah, don’t waste the poor guys time.

"I've seen that the ratings are down, they're more family friendly, and people are unhappy with the general direction they're going with plots being dropped and talent being wasted with no superstars."

Why would you take that as the general consensus and think "It's time to get back into this thing I watched 20 years ago"

No. It's not worth it.

18
CapablePerformanceOP•

It's kind of a one-two punch. Wanting to get back into it, then hearing people say it's not great. Figured I should ask in case things had picked up in recent months.

pizeku•

no, watch aew and stardom

18
iggymcfly•

LOL, I love how unanimous it is. If you really haven’t seen WWE since the mid 2000s, you wouldn’t believe how bad it’s gotten. It would blow your mind. AEW’s better than WWE ever was though.

15
CapablePerformanceOP•

Yea, I was expecting at least like...one person to be like "eh, it's starting to get better". lol.

Damn. Guess it's time to give AEW a try instead!

8
RandomLegendThe Phenomenal One•

I don't get the question. WWE is super easy to access and to follow. They put out a lot of content. Just watch a show and decide for yourself.

14
CapablePerformanceOP•

But that's the thing, they put out a LOT of content. There's Raw, Smackdown, NXT, and then the reality shows. Plus a lot of the issues that people mention aren't things you can notice after an episode or two.

It's easier to ask people that're already familiar with the programs then to spend weeks trying to jump into storylines midway in with almost no familiar faces.

jiso•

Look, ratings aren't actually down. You've just got to pick a side (Raw, Smackdown or NXT) and only follow that brand.

At Survivor Series it gets a little confusing because they do a crossover event but you just gotta hope your team sticks together.

2
WhosKlay•

This sub is very biased towards AEW what answer did you expect lol

9†
CapablePerformanceOP•

Well, if this is the first time I've been on this sub, something that should be evident by saying I haven't watched since the 2000s, then how would I know if this sub has a bias towards AEW? Better to ask in what appeared to be a neutral sub than going to the WWE specific sub like "Is this show worth watching?".

1

Saying "wwe is bad" will probably get you upvotes here. rumble to mania season is generally a good time for wwe. Aew is good too btw. But both shows definitely have their ups and downs.

4
WhosKlay•

sorry that's my bad i should have reread but yeah the sub is super biased so naturally the majority is going to tell you to watch aew instead, both companies have their positives and negatives you should just watch both to see which you prefer

3
doctorfr1ck•

Yeah this sub is super biased, towards good wrestling

0†
WhosKlay•

both companies offer good wrestling lmao

6
philly_boiPunk > Rock•

It’s not being biased. I love wrestling. I love WWE and I still watch the big shows for the most part but they put on a REALLY poor weekly show.

1
bravetailor•

If the WWE were good, the sub wouldn't be so biased towards AEW. Bias doesn't just come out of nowhere

0
WhosKlay•

you don't like it so it must be bad

1
Beach-Bumm•

I loved wrestling from 2000-2005ish especially, AEW comes closer to that then wwe does now a days

8
CapablePerformanceOP•

That's what I've noticed! Been watching some videos and it sems like AEW is closer and also involve the westlers in their storyline development instead of using the WWF's idea that Vince controls everything.

3
Account77_•

AEW is also much less weeky commitment. Generally speaking there is a 2 hour main show Wednesday (dynamite) and a 1 hour show Friday (rampage) with PPVs being less frequent.

0†
Nega_kitty•

Try watching both and see which characters, storytelling and production speak to you.

0
Biryani-Man69•

Yes, totally. It is very entertaining in its own way.

8
nerdyjorj•

I enjoy the product, but that doesn't seem to be the consensus opinion here

7
Muscle_SquadSPINEBUSTER'D•

There are people that like it, but its not something that users of this sub would admit if they do.

6
TheNakedChairGOOD PROMO!•

It's Mania season, best time to.

6
Pancho316•

I don't watch WWE. I stopped watching around 5-6 years ago. I haven't watched a single show since, and I don't miss it. I'm watching AEW right now and loving it.

With that being said, watch an episode of Raw and Smackdown, then decide if you want to continue watching. If you enjoy it, there you go. If not, no biggie.
